MULDER

Once his acting career began to take off with features like 'The Rapture', 'Chaplin' and then a starring role opposite Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis in 'Kalifornia', David Duchovny felt he was on his way to become a full-time movie-star and had serious doubts about doing a television series but his manager sended him the script for 'THE X-FILES', the one and only televison-script she ever gave him....someone give that woman a statue please !!
David remembers thinking he could do the pilot, getting paid to spend a month or so in Vancouver, and then be off to his next feature....but it didn't really work out that way.
David: "There were many days the first year of the series when I would just go home and think, 'I can't do it, I can't go back to work anymore." But later on the actor found the show's creative direction alone lightening the burden.
David wore a 'tie with pink pigs all over it" for his audition for the role of Fox Mulder...he hates ties, even to the extent of showing up for awards sans neckwear.
David's favorite episodes are "Duane Barry" and "One Breath"
Mulder's apartment number is 42
David likes to write poetry, his favorites are John Ashbery, Wallace Stegner and Charles Bukowski.
David's parents divorced when he was 11.
His academic career les to Princeton University, where he played baseball and also spent a year on the school's basketball team--a skill he showed off against Wirth, no less, in the pilot for Red Shoe Diaries.
Later on he went to Yale, earning his master's degree in English literature and also teaching.
One of his other hobbies is Yoga
David's border collie 'Blue' is the daughter of the dog featured in the 'ICE' episode
'Young at heart' was the first episode where Mulder kills anyone.
The first time Mulder fires his gun is to ward off some white wolves in 'Conduit'
In an interview David said that he would consider Mulder Jewish until told otherwise
The X-FILES movie will be David's 2nd starring role after starring in 'Playing God' (1997)
David: I can see us doing three of four movies, easily.
Mulder drops his gun quite a bit in the series, 19 times to be complete (3x in season 1, 8x in season 2, 4x in season 3, 3x in season 4 and 1x in season5) In the episodes: Genderbender, Tooms, Erlenmeyer Flask, 3 (twee keer), One Breath, Red Museum, Aubrey, Fresh Bones, Die Hand Die Verletzt, End Game, Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose, Nisei (maar hij heeft nog een ander), 731, Grotesque, Home, Teliko, Kaddish, Unusual Suspects, Detour.
More trivia to come......
