LIONUS

APPEARANCE

Lionus is in his mid 40’s and his skin has been burnt and wrinkled by the sun. He looks like he is in his 60´s except that when examined closely, there is stamina about him that seems out of place for an old man. He has olive skin, which has turned brown everywhere the sun has kissed it. His nose is angled like a hawk's beak and he keeps his beard short around his chin. He has penetrating black eyes. His body has been worked in the fields and is more towards the wiry type frame; he is 5' 11".  His hair is long and black-brown in color. He has a vicious looking scar around his temple and half of his ear has been hacked/burnt off in an earlier fight.

He is prone to wear loose clothing and will wear an "arabian" white headpiece almost all the time. He will usually have a robe tied at the waist with a belt and sandals on his feet

Lionus carries a "homemade" spear made out of bone that he fights with when in a clutch. When he goes into Tyr or other city, as in the past in order to get goods for the complex, he "caps" the head of his spear so that it looks like a walking staff. He also mimics a limp and usually goes into the cities with a dirty countenance.

HISTORY

Lionus comes from a farm where he has spent most of his life. He was taken in as a youth and taught to expand on his natural ability to commune with the element of water. He was taught to love the farm and learned all it's secrets. His work at the farm consisted of supplying water in the nights and tending to the fields during daylights hours. He used his "homemade" bone spear to help him out in his chores.

The farm was an experiment of a "crazy" druid who convinced many of his idea. He wanted to slowly recover the Athasian sands and convert them into fertile land. The complex consisted of dam-pond with irrigation channels that spilled water onto the fields.

The "spring-dam" was fed by the water clerics everyday. Low level clerics would pray for water and high level clerics would gate in the precious liquid. The dam was built by the earth clerics shaping the sands and gating in gravel for the berms and clay for the lining of the bottom. Once that was done, irrigation channels were built in similar manner.

The earth clerics also shaped the fields and gated in fertile earth to be later planted and tended. It was only a matter of time when more druids came in and started to plant and extend the fields.

A Triumvirate of two clerics and a druid governed the complex. Everything was going as planned when disaster struck.  A heavily armed retinue led by a defiler overran the complex. The few surviving workers were held captive while the rest of the fields were destroyed right before their eyes.

The farm was attacked many times by elven tribes or caravan merchants who usually went in bullying for water. It was for that reason that everyone in the complex has been trained to fight and to guard the place.

Lionus wears his battle scar (half of his ear burnt off) with pride and hopes that one day he may payback the defiler, he wants him to wilt slowly before his eyes from lack of water.

PERSONALITY

Lionus is an extremely well mannered person who thinks things through before committing to any action. He has a lot of experience dealing with other people and thinks that he can fix the world so that it is a better place to live in. He is not prone to fighting, trying to stay in the shadows, and avoiding conflict but whenever he sets his mind to something, he sees it through. An example of this when a caravan tried to take over the complex, there was no room for survivors since if they got away they would bring in more trouble. Lionus was one of the persons who dealt "mercy" to the harassers.

He strongly believes in cooperation and will try a diplomatic approach before anything else. He has been taught and seen through the complex that that is the way to do things. He will disguise himself as a low life dim wit (he learned that beggars are sometimes sought out as slaves) when in cities or in front of templars.

When he does not want to call attention to himself (don't forget he made it past his 35th birthday), he mimics a limp, acts and talks like a dim wit. He usually goes into the extent of drooling and spiting when he talks. "Ad you sssspeakinsss to messs, missster"
