JOIN THE RING

This is a fan web ring, run by fans, for fans,
and is about things fans like to see and do.

The ring master reserves the right to deny
membership to the ring to any unsuitable site.

Conditions for joining the ring.

1)    You must have a site for the TV show 'The Sentinel'.

2)    You must have an already existing web site to join the ring.

3)    Your web site must have content related to or dedicated to some aspect of editing, or publishing fanzines that will ultimately be printed on paper.

4)    Sites that promote hatred, violence, or intolerance toward others may not join the ring.

If you have something on your site you're not sure is suitable for the ring, send me an e-mail, along with the URL of your site, and I'll be happy to take a look.

Code placement and use.

1)    All sites on this ring must have the HTML code and graphic for this ring on their pages at all times.

2)    The HTML code must be in one of two places on your site:

A)     It must be on the same page you enter as your site address, your URL, when you join the ring.

B)     If you have a separate page for web ring links, you may put the code there. If you do, you must have a clear, readable pointer to your web ring links page on all your other pages.

3)    New sites that join the ring must have the fully updated HTML code on their page before they will be moved from the ring queue to the ring list.

Please note: All new sites are placed on a queue, or waiting list, to allow site owners time to put the HTML code on their page and for me to review their code before the site is placed on the ring proper. Not all of the links will work until a site has been moved from the ring queue to the ring proper.

Copying your graphic

I've made two different copies of the ring graphic: one with a white background and one with a black background.

Feel free to pick the one you like the best.

Fanzine Ring Logo      Fanzine Ring Logo

Please copy the graphic to your site or to your  computer, do not link it.

NOTE: In order to work, the graphic must be in the same subdirectory as your HTML fragment. If you keep all your graphics in a separate subdirectory on your site, you will need to adjust the ring code accordingly.

Do not link the graphic to your site. Linking a graphic causes your web pages to load slower because of the off-site graphic. My site will get more hits because you must access it each time your page is loaded and my web server does not like such off-site hits and may retaliate by deleting my site. I will be changing the name of the graphic periodically and you will have a broken graphic symbol on your page instead of a graphic, or I may change the name of the graphic and put an entirely unsuitable graphic in its place that will totally gross you out. Check out the Web Guard and site to find out why it's bad to link graphics.

Adding your site and receiving your copy of the HTML code.

After you add your site to the ring, you will receive an e-mail telling you that you've successfully joined the ring. The e-mail will have instructions telling you where to find the ring HTML fragment that has already been tailored for your site.

If you do not receive an e-mail from the WebRing System within twenty-four hours confirming that you've joined the ring, please contact me immediately.

You're ready to Join The Fanzine Ring!
