And so it begins...
![]() Ten thousand years ago, there was a terrible civil war (as opposed to a nice one) among the Vorlons. Their chief scientist, Lonvros of the hastily contrived anagram, had been experimenting with the idea of creating a seething ball of benevolence and encasing it in a life supporting travel unit, or encounter suit. Many among the Vorlon were unhappy about the prospect of wafting about the Universe in a sequin-studded shower curtain dispensing enigmacity, and so rebelled in favour of a life of Adventure, Excitement and Really Wild Things(TM). Things did not work out for these disgruntled First Ones however, and to make ends meet they were forced to take jobs in the intragalactic hospitality industry. They'd drift from world to world asking people "What do you want?" and did their best to keep their customers happy. In accordance with the ancient Chinese curse, however, lots of people getting exactly what they wanted led to universal chaos. Enter the Minbari with a mandate to put a stop to all this. Politically they stood on side of light (somewhere between a candle and star), but otherwise had a strict policy of non-intervention. The Minbari were a long-lived race who were able to replace their own bodies every so often using only a small pyramid and some lint. In order to put a stop to this rampant wish-fulfilment, the less well known Plasta Caste banished the non-suited Vorlons to the outskirts of the galaxy and a small three star hotel known to the locals as Plaza Ha Dump. And so the story continues... The moral - Never ask *that* question. |
