Rumor alert at Voyager Delights :

Tom Paris dies  The person who dies is Tom Paris. Apparently what happens is Janeway asks Q to help them get home which he agrees to, but in doing so he alters the timeline or something, so when they do get back to the Alpha Quadrant, Earth is experiencing some kind of storm which is destroying the Earth. So Janeway has 2 choices, either stay on Earth and watch it slowly be destroyed, or go through the storm and end up in some unknown part of the universe again. So she goes for the latter and goes through the storm and they end up back to where the Caretaker is. Something goes wrong and Tom Paris sacrifices himself to save the ship and everybody on it. Janeway was supposed to sacrifice herself but Tom does it instead

On a personnal note, I believe that if they kill Tom Paris, it would be a huge mistake. Kill off Chakotay, Seven of Nine, Neelix. Those are characters that have been worn out and have totally no basis on the show. But Tom's character is still grpwing and I think it would be a big mistake to just dismiss him like that and kill him off.
