Voyager Production News Production

From StarTrek.com:

Although ?Unimatrix Zero, Part II? finished principle photography several weeks ago, the Second Unit has been busy on Stages 8 and 16 polishing off the remaining shots for the exciting season seven opener.

The second unit shoots are often times required for the more technical shots or special effects inserts. For example, when the ?green screen? is used and images are added later in post production.  For this week?s shoot of Star Trek: Voyager, episode number 250, ?Critical Care,? the Paramount lot has been taken over by the sick and wounded. They are actors, of course, but it is a site to behold as over 50 extras, all made up to look wounded or sick, mill about the catering trucks, cafeteria lines, or the studio store while on their lunch break. ?Critical Care,? is an episode featuring the Doctor (Robert Picardo) and is set aboard a multi-level hospital ship.

As number 250 finishes filming this week, the next episode (251) slated to go before cameras is a Ken Biller story called ?Repression.?
