For Utumno Kabal

The day was hot as Archon Melkor sat in his private box trying to enjoy the valiant displays of the Cult of Glaurung in the arena below. This task was made even more difficult in that Dracon Angmar, Melkor's second in command, and Sauron, the kabal's Master Haemonculus, would not leave him alone.

"But my Lord, I have run out of subjects to experiment on. How may I continue my studies if I no longer have subjects on which to test my theories? I will even send along my best Talos to aid you in your quest." Sauron whined.

"The warriors grow restless my Lord. It's been a month since we have been on any raids. We need the exercise to keep our warriors sharp and focused," continued Angmar.

"I hear your complaints and incessant whinings. I know the needs of my kabal. Do you think that I am blind? We will go on a raid when I say we go, and not one moment before. I did not make my way to being the Archon of this kabal by accident, but by understanding the needs of those around me including the common warriors. Now leave me be!" Melkor's patience had just about run out.

"My Lord, I did not wish to mention this before, as you are a gracious leader and slow to anger, but there are stirrings among the troops. Many feel that you are growing soft since we returned from our last raid. There are rumors that one of the warriors may be plotting to assassinate you." Angmar's subtle implications were nothing new, nor were they wasted on Melkor.

"Alright, I'll think about it. Now leave me alone. Another word from either of you and neither of you will have a tongue with which to annoy me again. The Lady Adunaphel is being announced and I would like to see her perform without interruption." Melkor glared at the two eldar beside him.

Five humans were released into the arena on the ground level. Each had been equipped with some type of close combat weapon. A few of them swung their weapons trying to get a feel for them. Moments later the crowd erupted in cheers as the Lady Adunaphel, Succubus of the Cult of Glaurung, bounded into the arena from one of the balconies. She twisted in mid-air and landed with ease. The humans stared at her as she bowed to the Archon and his retinue of Incubi. One finally worked up the nerve to attack. Without a word, Adunaphel leaped into the air easily avoiding the strike, and in return dealt a blow to the man's back that sent him sprawling across the arena floor. Blood streamed from his back and he did not rise.

Seeing how easily their companion was dispatched to the afterlife, the other four humans sprang into action. They chased after the succubus and attacked in pairs, but were unsuccessful at inflicting even a single wound upon her. With graceful motion she would twist, spin, and leap out their range. Within moments Adunaphel stood alone on the arena floor surrounded by the lacerated and broken bodies of the humans.

With disgust Melkor looked at his second in command, " Is this the most challenging thing we have in our dungeons?" Angmar nodded. "Prepare the troops, we leave at once. I do not wish to be so disappointed again!" Angmar and Sauron smiled and left. Melkor looked to Morgoth, his Incubi Master, "I do not trust Angmar. Give him a retinue of troops that you trust to be loyal to me, tell him they are a boon from me to make sure he comes back alive." Morgoth nodding his understanding moved to comply.

Melkor smiled to himself. "Now we shall have some true entertainment!"
