(R.Foxworthy/P.Simon)
The first thing I remember
I was sitting on my shelf
There couldn't been more
than a plush or two

I remember there's a buncha noise
Comin' from the room next door
And the Head Bean chuckled
The way he kinda do
When it's late in the evening
And the plush are seeping through

The next thing I remember
I am walking down the street
I'm feeling all right
I'm with my bears, I'm with my plush, yeah

And down along the avenue
Some hares were shooting pool
And I heard the sounds
Of acappella cats, yeah
Meowining late in the evening
And all the dollstones on the stoops, yeah

Then I learned to play some lead guitar
I was on a rage in this funky bar
And I stepped outside to cut off man hang "T"

And when I came back to the store
Everybody just started to move
And I turned my amp up loud and I began to play
And it was late in the evening
And I blew that store away
The first thing I remember
When you came onto my shelf
I said I'm gonna get that plush
No matter what I do
Well I guess I'd been on sale before
And once or twice I been on the floor
But I never loved no one
The way that I loved you
And it was late in the evening
And all the bears are seeping through
