Taboo became romantically invovled with Backlash after he freed he from a maximum security prison ward. Serving as Marc Slayton's partner and lover for several years, the hot-blooded woman named Amanda Reed is his most trusted soldier.

History of Symbiote-Suit:
Lilitu is a very old vampire who was working with the Cabal (kind of the Daemonite mob) to produce a suit which would enable her to walk in the light of day. The suit was made by Branum (see Core #4) from the DNA of Calobis, the father of all vampires. Taboo was recruited off the the street (she was a hooker) as a test subject for the suit. After this she joined the Cabal, was Pike's (see Wildcats 1-4) lover, and was subsequently framed for murder and imprisoned, after which Backlash broke her out (see Backlash #1.)

There is indeed a male symbiote, a more advanced model, who will appear along with Lilitu in issue 5. Its twice as powerful as Taboo's and is wielded by Sammeal. This second symbiote is also the 'key' to freeing Lord Calobis who is trapped within Taboo's symbiote.

Powers:
She can manifest the symbiote at will, and it gives enhanced strength, limited invulnerability, and mild psionic/hypnotic powers. The symbiote gains its powers from her own blood causing her skin to turn a ghostly white.

The suit also gives her sharp-claws and tail which has control over like a whip. Due to the fact that the suit is vampiric in nature, Reed is slowly becoming more and more vampiric, at times the sight of blood/wounded person has sent her into a blood frenzy and when this happens her smybiote takes over and tries to kill the closes thing to her.

Backlash says: "Taboo. Amanda Reed. I broke her out of prison to help me out and I got a lot more than I bargained for. Sometimes I think she enjoys herself too much on the field, but that must be the effect of the vampiric suit. She and Jodi recently decided that she should move in with me, sometimes I wish that they'd just let me in on these little discussions for a change.
