Nahual

(nag-uh-AL)
Overview: For anyone who knows about Mexican folklore, nahual plays a prominent role in many of the tales of Mexican mythology. Nahuals are set apart by their ancient ties to the forest and their hatred to mankind. Most nahual changelings are in the Seelie court, but they have their own rules on how to interact with humanity and due to this, they can be better classified as Romantics. They are capable of shapeshifting (very similar to pooka's shapechanging), but also harbor great anger for humanity, and some magi have hunted them for centuries, hoping to bind them and learn their knowledge about Gaia. And, since they are in bound with Gaia, they have a stranget relationship of mutual respect with Garous, there are some rumors of nahual possessed lupines.

"Cuando estaban los humanos unidos a Gaia, los naguales representaban el sueño de la contraparte oscura del hombre y su relación con la naturaleza."
-Arquinio, in Leyendas Mexicanas.

Appearance: In their Fae seeming, they have a wild animal appearance: big pointed ears, feline eyes, a lot of hair, claws and large black symmetric moon marks across their body.

Life Styles: Modern nahual, while trapped in human bodies, are in self-conflict with their own nature. They have no former Stereotypes, but most of them are country people, shamans, hermits, vagabonds and tricksters.

Afinity: Nature.

Aptitude: +1 to intimidation. Every time a nahual attempts to intimidate someone, one die is added to social traits rolls.

Birthright: Shapeshifting. The nahual have the ability to assume the physical appearance of an animal from the following groups: regional snakes (rattle snake), common birds (turkey, rooster, raven, owl), rodents (rat, bat, tlacuache), wild canines (coyote, wolf, regional dogs), and several farm animals (pig, horse, donkey, etc.). When the nahual is completely away from light, he is able to shapeshift into the animal of choice (or back from it) in three turns. Shapeshifting costs three points of Glamour, but retrieving back has no additional Glamour cost. While in animal form, they have the ability to vary the original size of the creature in a fifty percent in any direction. The nahual does not assume all the abilities of the animal, only takes his form (in the particular case of birds, if he is used to be a bird he can learn to fly) and keeps all his original characteristics (Strength, Dexterity, Stamina, except Appearance).

Frailty: Bond to Gaia. The nahual can't stand being far away from nature, a daily Willpower roll (difficulty 4) is needed to enter and stay in a city. When someone is hurting nature a difficulty 6 roll is required for the nahual to resist attacking the responsible in some way. Regardless they need to be in contact with Gaia at least one week per month, or loose their birthright during one month after missing their recovering week.
