The elderly and knowing, Gustav Helsing. Once a University Professor, he now searches for a cure for his only son, Klaus, who was brought across by none other than Dracula himself.
Christopher Townsend. An almost stereotypical 16 year old teenager, who has been forcibly separated from his MTV and the Philadelphia Phillies. His integration into European customs has been a long and difficult process of which he is still trying to get accustomed to.
Maximillion Townsend, younger brother to Christopher Townsend. His interest in vampire lore and legend makes him the more eager of the group to stray and get himself in trouble. Although he usually always means well, his plans often backfire due to too partial knowldge. Lucard seems to have a fondness for the boy, and it seems most likely that he has hidden plans for him in the future. Lucard has even allowed Maxamillion to escape from him a few times, as if knowing he will have ample opportunity in the future to carry through with a larger plan.
Sophie Metternich. Having lived in Europe all her life, she knows very little of the ways of Americans, but more about the arts and even vampires. She is not, however, a vampire enthusiast like Maximilian She lives with Gustav when she goes to school. She tends to get stuck in the middle of things, whether it be explaining to Mrs. Townsend where her two boys are, or caught in between Christopher and his old girlfriend from Philadelphia. She is less rash and tends to think things out more often then the boys do, but she too has her own share of problems (usually involving vampires.
