To be Kithain is to be more than what is assumed . . .
Being a Satyr is more than the excesses, more than the drugs, the booze, the sex, or the partying. Being a Satyr is about a zest for life, standing on a mountaintop shouting rebellion against all who would contain you, about the music pounding in your veins like a drum whose beat you cannot deny. Being a satyr is about living, and the wisdom that comes from forging your own road.
Being a Troll is more than brute strength, is more than the ability to pound your enemies into the dirt and scream for more. It is holding a child close to your heart through an earthquake, walls falling down around you and placing her back in her mother's arms safe and sound. It is honor, it is strength, it is devotion to a cause.
Being a Sidhe isn't really about the Right to Rule, or about birth, or titles, or any of that. A Sidhe would be noble without all those trappings. Being a Sidhe is about providing an example, being a leader where one is needed and treating everyone with an innate dignity because anything less would be wrong. Being Sidhe is about doing what must be done for the good of all and having the wisdome to know that sometimes the needs of the one outweigh the needs of the many.
Being a Sluagh isn't about dark hallways, shadowed alleys, damp sewers, and whispered confidences. It's about respect for one with the power to destroy, and about making your enemies destroy themselves, and laughing up your sleeve at them. It's about knowing what those around you fear most, just for the joy of knowing.
The life of an Eshu is one of adventure friend. The endless tale, the epic story, the forever road one follows to see what's just over that next hill. It's always looking forward and putting the best spin on the past.
It's the heady look of terror on your victim's face that makes it all worthwhile, my boy. That's what being a Redcap is all about. It's about stepping out of their worst nightmares and and making them all real. It's about the pain and the fear and the power that comes of being the one that causes it. That's what life is all about.
A sense of accomplishment for a job well done, and a useful creation made with your own skill and tools. That's what life is to a nocker. Sure, it's not perfect, but life is a creation just like any other. You can work and work and finally get it going approximately the way you want it. There's still rough patches to spoil your metaphorical paintjob of life though, which gives you the right to be bloody @$#! pissed off.
Being a pooka is more than being a lack wit goof who lies all the time and can occasionally change shape. You are half animal, and do not always look at the world as humans do. Much of the world is just such a waste of energy - sratching at fleas is better. And your lies always have a purpose. Whether it is getting people to do what you want, making people feel comfortable, diffusing tension, or just becuase you don't really know yourself (but are afraid to say it) evry lie you tell should have something to do with who you are and what you want.
Pooka:
How do you be a Pooka? Well you take four ounces of sugar, and a pinch of pumpernickel..Oh.......wait..You said being a Pooka? Oh.....Well, it's about pranking and sillyness and making those around you underappreciate life. It's about lying. Constantly. It's about sneaking undersomeone's bed and tickling their feet when they are asleep. It's about Balloons and wheels. And that's the truth.
Nockers:
Being a Nocker is about perfection, Alright? It's about building shit you ain't never seen before and it's about makin the furkin' thing better than anyone else can. It's about sweat, blood, and soul. It ain't just about making stuff, you jag-off. It's a philosophy. It's about forgin' dreams and makin them real. It's about refinement and pursuits. It's about anything I damn well please, too....lemme alone.
Sluagh-
Sluagh are secrets. We hear things you don't want to, we see things you turn your eyes from. We go places where you cannot. We keep. We hold. We find. What you throw away, we reinvent. We revitalize, we take as our own. We know things the eldest have forgotten. We keep things from those who would seek to abuse them. We are a collective in this. We are knowledge.
Boggans-
Being a boggan is pretty fun. It's about bringing smiles to children's faces. It's about making you feel at home, no matter where you are. I think it's about being home....and knowing that no matter where you may go, or how you may get there....through struggle..home is only a few short thoughts away. Tasks are a boggan's work. We do tasks others find mundane, but we see it as a gift to those we care about. We make things to give of ourselves...to let others find peace. We boggans are a caring lot, and we do so enjoy company.
Trolls-
Honor and Strength. Troll Honor is not a concept many of you will understand. It is a high ideal, forged in blood, soul, and metal. Those who do not know stife, do not know us. We revel in a challenge, we face it head on and bust our way through it. Running builds the muscles in your legs...not the muscles of your strength....your honor. This is what you must understand, even though you are not a troll. All creatures have strength, but not all are willing to sacrifice to achieve their D'an. That is what sets Trolls apart from individuals. We will sacrifice for the whole...for our kith, and for kithain.
Sidhe-
The others think we were not made to rule. Perhaps, but the evidence does not suggest this. Today confidence is seen as arrogance. Years ago, confidence is what made a king our of a beggar, now it is drawn out of evil. Those that cry out injustice, know not what it is to lead...nor do they know the sacrifices we, as sidhe, have made to repair the damage of our previous lives...and make Concordia safer for us all. They would rather fight us, than join us. But that is what being Sidhe, is about. Being sidhe, is about being fought, but perservering because you know that what you do is for the good of all. Honor is important, Love is important, but a Good Leader knows that for even the truest honor, the truest love....it is our lot to sacrifice of ourselves for the other kiths who have been under our charge and direction. it is not out of arrogance I say this. In our souls we see the other kith, we can see their potential unbiased.
Satyrs-
Satyrness is about living life, sure. But it ain't nothing pussy. It's about LIVIN' LIFE, man. it ain't about sitting around on your ass waiting for someone to love you, make you better, or make you happy. It's all inside you. No one can make you happy but yourself. Grab the bull...by the HORNS...hahahhaahhahahahahh....and get out there and LIVE, FUCK, DOPE UP, SMOKE, DRINK, FIND GOD, PAINT BOATS...WHATEVER man..just don't sit around and let shit happen to you. Being satyr is being PROACTIVE...not REACTIVE.
Eshu-
To be an Eshu, is to find adventure by letting it find you. Do as thou wilt. You will find happiness so long as you keep moving. Sadness will find you, just as the ShadowWalker found Goranth on the plains of Habernath....but if you keep moving.....Sadness will fall behind and other emotions will take it's place. Fear...yes....Anger...yes....but if you keep moving and tell tales of your journey you can surpass these things and bring others along with you.
Redcap-
Being a Redcap is about not taking shit. It's about giving it. You do whatever you can, whenever you want, however you want..to fuck with the people who are trying to fuck with you. Fear is a good way to do this. We know how to scare the shit out of that unartistic fuck Dahmer...and I know we gots what it takes to bring it on home to scrawny shits like you.
That's my interps.
Peace out.
