Spathi enjoy eating squishy slimy molluscs with a great helping of seaweed.
Humans and dralasites find their eating tastes disgusting.
SENSES The Spathi have keen senses - which they use effectively to sense danger. For example, a simple whiff of poisonous gas in a huge cavern, a sight of an enermy space fleet beyond the normal sight of other beings, or even the minute sound of laser weapons firing miles are away - all these can be sensed by Spathi. . More accurately, Spathi have enhanced sight, hearing, smell and taste

SOCIETY AND CUSTOMS The Spathi have built a successful civilisation around the basic characteristic of cowardice. They are experts in the art of being obsequious and masters in grovelling. Their outlook on cowardice is practiced almost religiously to the extent that every year the Spathi race focus their cowardice on a new source of fear. The most recent source of fear for the Spathi is the Ultimate Evil, the nature and intentions of which the Spathi have not been able to identify. They claim it lies just beyond the range of their most sensitive detectors, which they say "gives conclusive evidence as to the Ultimate Evil's nefarious intent". |

If successful, than a bonus modifier of 1d10 is used to extricate themselves from any tricky situation requiring a dice check. Otherwise, a penalty modifier of 2d10 is used to worsen their situation. For example, a Spathi player (with 55 PER) has been captured by Sathar agents. He grovels and pleads for his life saying that he can be of use to them. The player rolls the dice and gets a result of 29 (he needed a roll of 28 or lower to succeed). The player groans and rolls another 2d10. He gets a result of 20. A -20 penalty will be incurred by the referee as the referee rolls the dice to determine the fate of the quivering Spathi. |
