In 2373 USS Voyager encountered this mysterious race, of which little was known except for their extreme dislike of intruders in their territory. Voyager's contact with them, made while Voyager tried to quickly cross their territory in order to save time on the journey back to the Alpha Quadrant, revealed that this race had a language that the universal translator had trouble dealing with, employed neuro-electric weapons, and used huge masses of small vessels to defend their borders. Any vessel entering their territory was immediately attacked by a large swarm of these tiny ships. The death of an alien soldier resulted in either vaporization or a form of transport designed to assure no trace of the race was left behind.
