Enarans have telepathic abilities and are capable of transferring their own memories and experiences to others, but only with expressed permission of the other individual. Most do not use table or chairs and their race is known to be very hygienic. Enarans are comfortable at slighter colder temperature than are normal for a human.
Sometime decades prior to 2373 the Enarans participated in the systematic genocide of a group of Enarans known as the Regressives. These Regressives were opposed to technology and wished to live simple and somewhat primitive lives. The official story told to the Enaran people was that the Regressives were relocated to a settlement that later failed and disappeared because of violence among the Regressives. In fact the Regressives were rounded up, killed and their remains concealed. It was not until 2373, when USS Voyager helped to ferry a group of Enarans from a colony in the Fima system, that the truth was revealed when one of the Enaran passengers transferred her memories of the incident Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres.
