The Golconda technology level compares favourably with that of other Omnet Empires. We regularly trade with our neighbour the Valdori, and the more distant Quo'kar, and have found our vastly different technologies to be of a common level. Further, since the creation of the Delsm Alliance, technological research has reached new heights. We are approaching level 7 of out industrial technology potential. Our industry is heavily automated, which occurred as a flow on from our low population density following the Great Conversion.
Golconda technology is based on the gradual release of power which is captured in energy crystals. Equipment, plant and machinery, is made largely from cerametals and crystametals. The concepts of magnetism and electricity are foreign to us. We detect a similarity between our energy flows and the power generated by stars in atomic zones, though the technologies are not interchangeable.
We are currently working with the Valdori in an effort to make compatible our Energy flow drives with their Astrological technology. Attempts to do the same with their Ether technology appear less likely of success. So far, no attempt has been made to achieve common drives based on the Elemental technology of the Quo'kar, but their zone does have modest levels of Energy flow technology, with which we expect to provide assistance.
On planetary surfaces energy is applied by expanding and contracting gases. The activates all machines and transportation devices. Heat build-up is not a problem, excess energy is simply reconverted by the energy crystals and stored for later use. Our energy conversion factor is extremely efficient at 0.9929 as a ratio of output to input. Constant efforts are made to better this factor. Outside the atmosphere, travel is achieved through resonating drive crystals with the energy flows of the zone. Needless to say, outside energy flow zones we cannot travel without the appropriate drives.
