The Wookies owe much of their pain to the Trandoshans. Trandoshan religion proclaims the existence of a “Scorekeeper” beyond time and space. This bloodthirsty deity numbers every deed of each Trandoshan hunter, awarding jagannath points to successful hunters or stripping those points away in shame and defeat. The reptiles used to hunt Wookies, skinning them for pelts. But the worst transgression came early in the arrival of the Empire to Trandosha. Trandoshan dignitaries convinced the Empire to use Wookies as slave labor. After the Empire subjugated, enslaved, and occupied much of Kashyyyk, the Trandoshans offered to hunt down any Wookies that had escaped.
When his liege lord suggested that he become a bounty hunter who specialized in Wookie captures and kills, Bossk was more than eager to do so. He outfitted himself with protective body armor and a variety of weapons. His favorite weapon is his custom-made blaster rifle, which hangs from an elaborate sling fastened around his neck and under his left arm.
Bossk was disgraced by one Wookie, Chewbacca, on Gandolo IV. On this remote moon in the Outer Rim, Bossk and his cohorts ambushed a renegade Wookie colony. Chewbacca, already allied with Han Solo, was helping the small group of refugees settle when Bossk appeared and captured the lot, the Millennium Falcon dove toward the planet, buzzing the hunters and their prey. Attempting to pursue the Falcon, Bossk boarded his own ship. As the entry ramp was raised, Solo pulled the Falcon directly above Bossk and landed on top of the Trandoshan’s vehicle. His ship crushed and his prisoners escaped, Bossk vowed revenge for Chewbacca stripping away his dignity.
Years later, Bossk had another chance to capture the Wookie. Shortly before the battle of Hoth, Boba Fett gathered several bounty hunters including Bossk, Dengar, and Skorr, in order to find Han Solo. Together they located and captured them, along with Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca, aboard the pirate Raskar’s ship. Shortly after bringing the Rebels to the planet Ord Mandell, the prisoners escaped.
When Darth Vader sent an open call for bounty hunters to find the Millennium Falcon, Bossk immediately applied. Accepted for his great fame and success as a Bounty and Wookie hunter, Bossk stood with five other top notch hunters. Thinking he had the inside track to where the Falcon was located, Bossk took off with some temporary partners-hunters who hadn’t made Vader’s cut.
After being double-crossed, framed, imprisoned and finally escaping, Bossk found out that Boba Fett had indeed succeeded in tracking the Falcon, and delivering the carbon-frozen body of Solo to Jabba the Hutt. Following the Alliance rescue for Solo on Tatooine, Bossk moved to the hunter’s world of Keyorin. There he and IG-88 decided to team up, accepting hunt commission from the small-time crime boss, Drebble. The target, Lando Calrissian, had coincidentally landed with both Han Solo and Chewbacca on Keyorin. In an attempt to overpower the trio, a small fire fight broke out. Explosions and laser fire gave cover to the retreating Rebels. Once again Chewbacca along with Calrissian and Solo had escaped.
The current whereabouts of Bossk are unknown, although he has been recorded accepting hunts and collecting bounties. Once per Trandoshan year Bossk docks his Hound’s Tooth at his homeworld. His reason for his visits as stated by Empirial Interstellar Customs records is always “Religious.”
