Guerrand Shadowslayer
The suffering of the Many is eased by the agony of the One...
Guerrand Shadowslayer is no stranger to tragedy. His father
unknown, his mother was a wench at a tavern in Hillsfar. While she was
carrying him, his mother hated him. He was born in a back alley of some
dark street, where his mother abandoned him. The town guard picked him
up the next morning, and delivered him to a local orphanage. There, he
learned to hate the non-human races of Toril, and he was trained to
fight as a Red Plume. While at this orphanage, he met a child by the
name of Saganth. Guerrand befriended Saganth, and they were friends
ever since.
Excelling at both his Physical and Mental training, he
would be a fine addition to the ranks of the Red Plumes. On the fateful
day when Guerrand was to enlist in the Red Plumes, a Cleric of Ilmater
noticed something about him. The aged priest stopped Guerrand from
joining Hillsfar's army, and convinced him into joining the ranks of
Ilmater.
While studying in the temple, Guerrand learned to be kind to
the other races of the world, and forgot his racial prejudices. The
priest prophesized that Guerrand would hold a prominent role in
defeating evil, and thus gave him the name Shadowslayer. Guerrand's
goal from that point on was to destroy evil, and help those who were in
pain. To start his career, he fled his home of Hillsfar, with Saganth,
to help rid the world of evil.
