Second Floor: Dark Visions

Lewis Chao's Rooms

Lewis is such a dork that he thinks his first page is really cool. He even thinks Lydia Zetes thinks it's cool. She doesn't.

So, unfortunately for all who didn't like that last page but followed the link here anyway, he has decided to continue with his little experiment.

Here it is, Lewis Chao's condensed version of Dark Visions 2: The Possessed.

"Hurry!" Kaitlyn gasped as she reached the top of the staircase. Behind her the front door burst open.

Kaitlyn looked back. The man elbowed one of his companions, then took a step toward the street.

Kaitlyn froze, her legs suddenly refusing to move. "You did what?" he said.

Gabriel gave one of his wildest smiles. "Now-exactly where are we going?"

"Let's just get out of California as fast as possible," Gabriel said. He looked around under the stars for someone to quench his thirst.

The people were leaning over her. Kaitlyn found herself looking into eyes that were black and glittering with menacing fury.

"No," Gabriel snarled. "Get out."

"Go on," Rob said curtly. "I think you're lying," she whispered.

Something in Gabriel's eyes fractured. And then there was another impact and everything went dark.

Kaitlyn could hear water-a musical gurgling sound. "Now, suppose you kids explain what you're doing in Washington?"

Kaitlyn looked from Anna's mother to Anna's father, a grave man with steady eyes who'd scarcely spoken during dinner. "Grab your things and let's get moving."

"The ferry leaves from Port Angeles at eight-twenty," Anna said as she and Kaitlyn hurriedly changed their clothes in her bedroom. A voice behind Kaitlyn said, "It's all true."

Kaitlyn whirled to see the most unlikely person imaginable. "Except him."

"What?" Kaitlyn said, and Rob said, "What do you mean, except him?" "Forever."

"But what about Gabriel?" Kaitlyn said. "Take a shard and give it to the children," he whispered.

Mereniang looked both bewildered and horrified. As a ray of sun broke through the clouds, it flashed like diamond.

I think the first story was better.....better luck with the next one, eh?
