Wednesday, September 4, 1991 First day of school. Elena meets Stefan, sort of. Caroline is bitchy. Bonnie reads Elena's palm. Weather: cloudy, occasionally oppressive. Diary entry.
Thursday, September 5, 1991 Elena meets Matt before school to break up. Plan A-"Welcoming Committee"-backfires. Caroline continues to be bitchy. Dick and Tyler begin to harrass Stefan. Stefan goes to football practice with Matt. Elena goes to the graveyard. Bonnie has her first trance. Old man attacked under Wickery Bridge. Elena feels Stefan's thoughts as shouting while she sleeps. Weather: blue sky early; windy/cold evening. Diary entry.
Friday, September 6, 1991 Plan B, Phase One, begins: Jean-Claude and Stefan rumors. After school, Meredith and Elena go to Bonnie's. Weather: partial clouds
Next 2-3 weeks Elena catches Stefan staring at her in class three times. Fear of more attacks like on the old man. Elena gets a bouquet of red roses and several letters from "Jean-Claude." Caroline withdraws further.

Friday, September 27, 1991 Elena tells Matt the truth about Jean-Claude. Asks him to get Stefan to go to the Homecoming Dance, and agrees to be Matt's date.
Friday, October 4, 1991 Homecoming Game. Elena named Homecoming Queen.
Saturday, October 5, 1991 Homecoming Dance. Elena and Matt; Bonnie and Raymond; Meredith and Ed. Robert says Elena reminds him of "Helen Of Troy." The mystery of where Caroline's been lately is solved. Stefan "rejects" Elena. Elena argues with Meredith and Bonnie. Elena, Tyler Smallwood, Dick Carter, and Vickie Bennett go to the graveyard. Tyler attacks Elena; Stefan rescues her. Elena confronts Stefan about his feelings for her at the boarding house. Vickie is attacked.
Sunday, October 6, 1991 Elena, Bonnie, and Meredith visit Vickie, who freaks out at the sight of Elena. They go to the boarding house. She says "I love you" to Stefan. She discovers the hair ribbon she lost on the second day of school among Stefan's things.
Monday, October 7, 1991 Diary entry (2). Stefan and Elena eat lunch together. Caroline interrupts, bitchily.
Next week (7th-11th) Stefan visits Elena every evening at dusk.
Friday, October 11, 1991 Elena, Bonnie, and Meredith meet in gym after school to plan the Haunted House. Power goes out-Meredith and Bonnie look for Mr. Shelby, the janitor, while a mysterious stranger approaches Elena.
Next week (12th-18th) Work on Haunted House.
Wednesday, October 16, 1991 Elena discovers the ring on Stefan's necklace.

Friday, October 18, 1991 Meredith and Elena sleep over at Bonnie's. They decide on Halloween costumes. Elena reads them her diary entry from the day before. They're attacked by a crow in Bonnie's yard. "Dumb Supper" invites the stranger from the gym into Bonnie's house. Yangtze dies. Elena's diary is stolen. Weather: unusually cold.
Thursday, October 31, 1991 Halloween. Haunted House. Elena tries to reconcile with Caroline. Stefan "argues" with Mr. Tanner. Tanner ends up dead. Tyler creates a mob going after Stefan. Stefan destroys his room. Elena discovers his secret-he's a vampire. He explains his past to her. They share blood. Elena gets home at 2 a.m. Stefan confronts Damon. Weather: very stormy; no rain.
Friday, November 1, 1991 Elena wakes late from nightmares. She's late for school. Leaves school after about 5 minutes of first period. Looks for Damon, confronts him in the graveyard. Elena looks for Stefan. Nearly freezes to death. Bonnie trances to find Stefan. Elena, Bonnie, Meredith, and Matt find him in the Francher well. Elena and Stefan share blood. Weather: snow.

Monday, November 4, 1991 Elena is shunned at school. Alaric K. Saltzman arrives. Elena confronts Caroline. Stefan suggests breaking up; Elena refuses. Stefan visits with Aunt Judith and Elena that evening. They go to Alaric's party, where Damon approaches Elena. They leave early. Stefan explains the limitations of the dark. Elena argues with Aunt Judith. Elena calls Bonnie to see what happened after they left the party. First diary note in her purse.
Tuesday, November 5, 1991 Second diary note on bulletin board at school. Meredith and Bonnie walk Elena to school on Stefan's orders. She tells them her suspicions about Damon as the murderer. Vickie does a striptease at lunch. Bonnie and Meredith go over to Elena's to discuss the notes and Damon. Stefan and Matt drive south to get wild vervain. Elena decides to sleep over at Bonnie's. She has nightmares: Stefan and her diary; her reflection in the hallway; dancing with Damon. Wakes up to crow attacking her. She and Bonnie go back to Elena's.
Wednesday, November 6, 1991 Matt and Stefan come over at dawn. Bonnie tells Elena about her own scary "Elena"/crow nightmare. Third diary note, in personals section of the school newspaper. They realize Caroline has the diary. Elena discovers Caroline and Tyler's plan. They decide to steal the diary back from Caroline.

Saturday, November 16, 1991 Elena, Meredith, and Bonnie burglarize Caroline's house but fail to find Elena's diary. Damon saves Elena from discovery by the Forbes'. He offers to get the diary in exchange for Elena's blood. She refuses.
Monday, November 18, 1991 Elena announced as "Spirit of Fell's Church." Vickie Bennett attacks Tyler Smallwood. Elena goes to the boarding house with Stefan. He refuses her blood.
Sunday, November 24, 1991 Thanksgiving Preview Dinner-Elena, Margaret, Judith; Robert; Bonnie, Matt; Damon. Snowball freaks out. Bonnie trances. Aunt Judith suggests Elena date Damon.
Monday, November 25, 1991 2:10 a.m. Damon comes for Elena's blood. She tries to trick him; he threatens Margaret. Elena gives in.

Thursday, November 28, 1991 Diary entry. Thanksgiving. Elena decides to tell Stefan everything.
Friday, November 29, 1991 Elena tells Stefan about the diary, but not about Damon. They exchange blood. He says "I love you." He gives her Katherine's ring. Diary entry.
Saturday, November 30, 1991 Founder's Day. Bonnie, Meredith, Elena and Stefan try to get the diary from Caroline. Last diary note, in Elena's parade costume. Caroline discovers her own diary in place of Elena's. Elena talks to Damon. She argues with Aunt Judith and Robert. She reveals her engagement. She takes Matt's car to the boarding house. A "storm" forces her off Wickery Bridge; she drowns in Drowning Creek. Bonnie's trance sends her, Meredith, and Stefan to the bridge. They find Elena's body. Stefan attacks Tyler and his "goon squad." He attacks Damon. Elena wakes and goes to help Damon in the fight. She attacks Stefan. She takes Matt's blood. Judith breaks up with Robert and sees Elena in the tree outside Elena's bedroom window. Elena sleeps at Alaric's.
Wednesday, December 4, 1991 Elena awakens in Alaric's attic and discovers his secret. Elena watches her own memorial service. Bonnie trances-Honoria Fell. Elena apologizes to Stefan. The dogs attack. Damon and Stefan agree to work together. Elena visits Meredith; Bonnie shows up. She explains everything about Stefan and Damon. List of suspects: Robert-Alaric-Mrs. Flowers (Matt and Vickie crossed off.) Elena goes hunting with Stefan and Damon.
Thursday, December 5, 1991 Stefan visits Bonnie at school. Sue Carson thanks him for saving her brother's life. Bonnie tells him about the Snow Dance. Stefan goes to European History. Diary entry. White owl watches Elena in the barn. Weather: snow. Stefan tries to talk to Matt, who's in major denial. Stefan is suspicious of Meredith. Bonnie divines Elena's future at Meredith's. Snowball attacks Margaret, who invites Elena in. She and Stefan go to the high school where they discuss Meredith and Damon.
Next week, December 6-11, 1991 Everyone watches the list of suspects, who don't seem to be doing anything suspicious. Reports of animal attacks as Meredith and Bonnie spread the idea that other pets can be dangerous. The vet who's keeping the dogs in quarantine is attacked and most of the dogs escape into the woods. Weather: constant snow.
Thursday, December 12, 1991 Diary entry. Meredith reveals Damon and Elena to Alaric. Stefan goes to the high school to meet Caroline and is attacked by her father and his friends. Elena and Damon save him. Alaric reveals his identity. Meredith reveals the family secret. Elena asks Damon about Vickie. She visits Matt; they share blood.
Friday, December 13, 1991 Dairy entry. Snow Dance. Bonnie trances. Everyone goes to the Fells' tomb. Katherine attacks Elena, Stefan, and Damon. Matt and Bonnie go back to the school and burn stuff to keep the escaped dogs at bay. Meredith protects Elena's family in the cellar at her house. Katherine explains herself.
Saturday, December 14, 1991 At dawn, Elena pushes Katherine into a patch of sunlight and rips off her talisman, killing her in a ball of fire. The sunlight also kills Elena. Stefan tries to kill himself, but Damon doesn't let him.
Monday, December 16, 1991 Elena's second memorial service. Final Diary entry by Bonnie.

Saturday, May 30, 1992 Meredith celebrates her 18th birthday.
Thursday, June 4, 1992 Caroline convinces Bonnie to bring Meredith to a surprise birthday party on Saturday. Bonnie insists Vickie Bennett is invited.
Friday, June 5, 1992 Bonnie's diary entry. First psychic dream about Elena, set in Warm Springs. It ends as a nightmare, due to a stronger power's influence.
Saturday, June 6, 1992 Surprise party for Meredith at Caroline's. Meredith reveals that it is her real birthday today. The revelers, Caroline, Bonnie, Meredith, Vickie, and Sue Carson, use a Ouija board to contact Elena. Vickie is the only witness to Sue's violent death.
Sunday, June 7, 1992 Meredith and Bonnie go to the school parking lot to discuss what happened with the other students. They are skeptical about Bonnie's psychic connections with Elena. Tyler suggests that Vickie killed Sue. Matt is depressed. Bonnie suspects Tyler in the murder. Meredith, Bonnie, and Matt do a summoning spell. Damon uses an exchange student as a substitute for Elena.
Monday, June 8, 1992 Diary entry. Second psychic dream, in a 50s soda shop. This also ends as a nightmare.
Tuesday, June 9, 1992 Stefan and Damon arrive in Fell's Church. Bonnie, Meredith, Matt, and the Salvatores go to the boarding house. Mrs. Flowers offers refreshments and the use of Stefan's old room. Stefan influences a disturbed Vickie into letting him into her bedroom, where he coaxes information about Sue's killer out of her. Stefan has a plan to find out who-or what-the killer is.
Wednesday, June 10, 1992 Bonnie, Meredith, Matt, and Stefan go to the funeral home after the viewing of Sue's body (after 10 p.m., yet before the funeral...) Stefan suspects that the killer isn't human. Matt continues to be depressed. Stefan angers Damon. Stefan tries to connect with Elena. After Sue's funeral, Stefan and Matt go to the library to research Fell's Church's history. The tension between them eases. Bonnie and Meredith keep watch over Vickie. Damon kisses Bonnie. Matt breaks them apart and challenges Damon.
