Valyn notices the mugs and inquires, 'Is there any klah around?'
Donnae looks up. "Yeah.." She slides a pot his way.
Lenore grins, and finds her way to sit by Morian. Tuning her lute as she goes, and as she sits, of course.
Valyn grins and nods a thank-you in Donnae's direction. Quickly pouring a mug he looks around. 'So how are you all today?' Trying to spark a conversation perhaps.
Donnae smiles. "Not too bad.. better than earlier I think."
Rhiesh nods to Valyn, gripping his own mug. "It's hot, too." Rhi only drinks it when it's scalding. A brow is quirked at Donnae. "Oh? What happened earlier?"
Morian grins and stands forgetting his dinner "Lenore...." he nods and smiles warmly
Donnae shakes her head. "Just a purple funk."
Lenore smiles at Morian, "Morian."
Rhiesh giggles. "A purple funk? What's that? It sounds almost contagous."
Donnae looks at her. "Just depression."
Valyn nods in agreement and echoes, 'A purple funk.' He takes a quick swig of klah and sucks in air to cool off his mouth. 'That is hot!'
Morian smiles and sits with a blush "Um hi....." he grins dark brown eyes sparkling then glances at Donnae worriedly "Whats wrong sis?"
Donnae looks at Morian. "Nothing now." she smiles.
Lenore starts testing the strings on her lute, "Valyn, does this 'A' sound sour?"
Morian grins at his sister and hugs her with a murmured "Thanks....."
Valyn closes his eyes and listens carefully. 'A bit flat. Not too much though.'
Lenore retunes it, and tries again, "Now?"
Donnae smiles. "ANy time." She says, hugging him gently.
Valyn nods and smiles. 'Much better!' Turning to Donnae he says belatedly, 'Glad you're doing well.'
Gepard emerges from the courtyard.
Lenore tries the other notes, all sounding satisfactory to her.
Donnae smiles. 'Thanks, Valyn." she says softly, then looks to MOrian. "SO what've you been up to?
Valyn gives a slow wave to Gepard. 'Hello there.'
Lenore stands up quickly, and thrusts the lute at Morian, "Hold this!" Running over to Gepard, she gives her a hug, "Sis! Where've you been?"
Gepard nods, "Hello, I have been busy." she sits heavily her eyes circled with dark rings from no sleep.
Valyn has a severe feeling some of his family should be present. Where do all these relatives suddenly appear from?
Morian shakes his head "Just working and doing what I'm told you Lenore? How is your harpering?" he grins at Valyn and shakes his head then over to Rhiesh "What do you do around here anyway?"
Caelara spirals down the grand staircase.
Morian chuckles holding Lenore's lute in his had shaking his head 'Okay....."
Lenore nods, "You look it, Gepard. You need to take some time off!" she retireves her lute from Morian, "Thanks. This is my sister, Gepard, everyone. Gepard, this is Valyn, Morian, Donnae, and Rhiesh, is that right?"
Gepard nods a hello to them all. "I'm fine, the clan was up here so i decided to stop in for a visit."
Caelara steps in and looks about at all the people.
Valyn stands and bows slightly. 'Hello Gepard.' He flashes a smile and then sits down once again. All these people.
Morian nods to the newcomer dark brown eyes dancing "Welcome to Fort hold I'm Morian."
Caelara smiles at Morian. "Hello! I'm Caelara."
Morian nods "Hello Gepard, well met." he shakes his head and grins "Well met to you Caelara." a glance sent to Lenore "Did you say your sister?"
Gepard says, "Well met"
Lenore smiles, and retunes her lute again. She begins to play, a snatch of a tune here, a snatch of a tune there. "I'm Lenore, Caelara," she says without looking up. Ahhh, there it is, joyful, a reunion song, "Yep, my sister. Not who my song is about."
Rhiesh looks rather guilty as he finally zones back in to answer Morian's question. "Um.... I'm staying with my great aunt?" That's as good an answer as any, and really it says nothing incriminating. He waves around to the new folks, having been introduced with the group.
Valyn notices the tall, young girl and rises again. 'Hello Caelara. I'm Valyn the misbehaving apprentice.' He says the last without any hesitation as if hes thought it over many times.
Caelara grins at Valyn and extends a hand. "Nice to meet you, Valyn.
Morian glances at Lenore and smiles then looks at Rhiesh blankly "Your great Aunt? who is that?"
Valyn likwise extends his hand and shakes firmly. 'Nice to meet you too.'
Gepard shrieks as the bony hand of RL drags her away.
Gepard has disconnected.
Caelara grins at Valyn and then turns to Lenore and smiles again. "Nice to meet you, Lenore!"
Lenore smiles at the girl, "So I'm not the only one who's this tall, hmmm?"
Rhiesh answers Morian, "Her name is Wedelia. Have you met her? I think she's about three hundred Turns old, and her hands shake so badly she needs help to do just about everything," he confides in a lower voice.
Caelara grins back. "I guess not! It's a relief to find out, eh?"
Lenore nods, grinning, "When I'm taller than most of the boys my age . . . " she grins at Morian, who tops her, barely.
Morian laughs at Rhiesh and shakes his head at Lenore "Um not taller than me...." Caelara grins at Lenore. "It stinks."
Lenore grins, and stands up to her full height. Yep, only about a half inch difference. Morian chuckles "Oh? does it now?" he winks at Cael and grins roguishly reaching over to tickle Lenore.
Caelara grins at Morian. "It most _definitely_ does."
Donnae sips some klah thoughtfully
Lenore shrieks with laughter, "Don't you dare!" squirming out of his reach, she replies to
Caelara, "Oh, I don't know, it's harder for them to try to intimidate you."
Morian glances over at his sister and nudges her "Lighten up Donnae...."
Lenore goes home.
Valyn stands and looks around absently.
Donnae looks at Morian. "Sorry, just planning." She grins.
Rhiesh grins over at Donnae. "Maybe she's in that purple mood again," he suggests.
Morian grins and stands as Lenore leaves then looks at Cael "Um looks like I have a few inches on you Caelara." he laughs at Rhiesh "Oh you think?"
Caelara raises an eyebrow. "I don't think so. I'm 6 feet tall. About half a foot taller. Well, a little less.."
Rhiesh leans over to try to lift up a bit of Donnae's hair and peek behind her ear. "Yeah, I think she's got a bit of purple showing back there.... She tries to hide it, but it always comes through." He casts a wink at Morian.
Caelara looks distracted.
Caelara has disconnected.
Morian winks back and starts to laugh flexing his muscle teasingly at Cael "yes......but you don't have /these/!
Verdant blinks in from ::between::!
Valyn grins Morian's antics and takes a sip of klah. He's suprisingly non-communitive tonight.
"And where are you from Caelara by the way? This is my sister Donnae...the quiet one." Morian teases then looks at Rhiesh and gives him a wink "The one in the purple funk I guess."
Donnae chuckles and sticks her tongue out at her brother.
Morian grins at Donnae "Careful Da always said that your tongue might get stuck that way."
Donnae chuckles. "No he didn't."
Rhiesh laughs and nods. "Or she might have to use it on something. Or someone," he adds ominously.
Arilynne emerges from the courtyard.
Morian shivers and grins "Oh that is just /too/ much to picture. Please don't give her ideas" he mourns you see he doesn't enjoy scaring Donnae's suitors away but you see, thats his job.
Rhiesh laughs at Donnae's confused expression. "Hey, it was a joke!" He grins back at Morian, at least until he spots Arilynne. Oh dear, is there anywhere he can hide? It's too late. "Arilynne! Hello!" he calls. Maybe she won't recall the topic of their previous conversation.
Arilynne stomps in dramatically, sadly the effect is ruined as this poor healer lass is stomping around without any boots on. Bare feet, semi-frozen, make a rather wimpy smacking sound instead. Still, her fury blazes in her eyes as she stalks Rhiesh, the source of all her troubles. "You... you... you," she threatens, wagging a finger at the holder boy.
Donnae looks at MOrian, a bit confused, but then shrugs. 'Whatever."
Valyn looks in suprise at the newcomer. 'Hello?' It appears Rhiesh is in trouble.
Morian grins at Rhiesh and nods to the healer apprentice "I'm......." but he stops and covers his mouth trying hard not to laugh "Um miss? perhaps you should go warm up by the fire? I'm Morian." he turns to a drudge and murmurs something then looks between Rhiesh and Arilynne yup Rhiesh is in trouble all right.
Rhiesh notices the feet far too late. Uh oh.... "Um...?" Articulate today, isn't he? And it looks like she isn't in the mood for denials. "Arilynne! Whatever happened to your boots!" he cries, trying out his most innocent of innocent expressions.
Valyn just shakes his head. He should have stayed in the dorms like he was supposed to tonight.
Arilynne is usually very polite, but semi-numb toes cause her manners to go flying right out the window. Gaze is locked on Rhiesh with accusation and she stomps.. er smacks.. her way towards him. "What ever happened to your boots," she repeats sarcastically, still approaching with deadly resolve. "Why don't you tell me," she asks sweetly, too sweetly.
Rhiesh shakes his head with a degree of emphaticism that only comes from sheer terror. "I don't know!" he protests. "The last time I saw them, you were wearing them! And it was that one day, back when you... uh oh...." Does this mean she'll be wanting /his/ boots in exchange for her lost ones? He tries to tuck his feet further under his chair, so as to be less noticeable.
Confusion mars Morians face as he looks between the two then he looks down at Rhiesh' s boots and begins to laugh /hard/ unable to control it his eyes watering.
Rhiesh's eyes widen as he looks at Morian. "Hsst! You're not helping!" he whispers.
Arilynne notices alright, her furious gaze zooming in on them. "I see you're still wearing them," she comments idly, feigning nonchalance before she dives, determination sketched all over her anger splotched face.
Donnae raises an eyebrow as she listens, sipping a klah.
Morian covers his mouth his shoulders shaking with laughter dark brown eyes dancing with laughter, face drawn up into a bland expression though you can tell he is really trying /hard/ not to continue laughing.
All this is about boots?! Valyn looks around at those present as if this was just too much. He looks rather blankly at the laughing Morian, terrified Rhiesh and the vengeful Arilynne. For boots?
Well it is winter you know.
Still. We're half-crazed over boots.
Ha. Who's this we? Arilynne's half-crazed over boots.
Rhiesh chews his lower lip. "But they're /my/ boots, see?" he holds up a booted foot. "I've owned these for Turns. It must've been someone else who's taken them. His eyes slide over to Morian. "Him! I bet he knows something, the way he's laughing!" Rhi will try passing the buck.
Half crazed? more like laughing so hard he can't control himself. Morian breaks into gales of laughter drudges pausing to turn and whisper as he watches Rhiesh and Arilynne fight over the boots.
Rhiesh
Here's a young rogue... or a rogue-in-training, at least. This young man is of average
height and wirey build, a progressing adolescent whose current appearance only hints at
the adult he will one day become. Wild bleach-blond waves form a curling mass atop his
head. His features are prominant: full lips which almost always play into a smile, an
aquiline nose, and striking amber eyes flecked with jade. His movements are most often
careless and abrupt, though once in a while a certain grace possesses his limbs,
suggesting something he will grow into.
He's knotted as a Fort Hold resident.
His vest is a tightly woven tweed mingling colors of blue, red, and brown, not heavy but
warm, laced with leather thonging a dark klah-brown. The tunic underneath is a
complimentary pale yellow, and it's growing a bit short in the sleeves. Pinned into the
collar is a silver charm set with chips of semiprecious stones, a keepsake. Darker
trousers in an irregular dye ranging brown to black tuck into worn black boots that appear
to have seen a lot of walking.
Arilynne
Before you is a young woman who eminates good humor and fun. You can imagine her poking
her chestnut head into any situation, warranted or otherwise. Her dancing hazel eyes
change colors according to her mood, varying from startling green to aqua if she is really
happy. Her pixie face faithfully reflects the impish side of her countering the effect of
her wide innocent eyes. She is short and lean, making it easy for her to go unnoticed in
almost any situation, if she so chooses. She has a light grace about her, and she fairly
dances when she walks. Her look, instead of being a typical beauty, is that of a fey
creature, which makes her all the more endearing.
A simple knot in purple denotes her as a Healer apprentice.
Aril is wearing a new woven tunic in healer purple and a stiff pair of tan wherryhide
pants, badly needed to be broken in. On her feet are her old boots. They're very worn, but
they still have some dragonlengths in them yet. Heru peeks out at you from behind
Arilynne's hair. Cosette stares at you blankly making you feel that she's looking right
through you. Pauli regards you, perched atop Arilynne's shoulder.
Donnae shakes her head and just moves to get klah, not sure she wants to get involved.
Already in the middle of her dive, Arilynne can't change her trajectory. Nor does she want to, she's made up her mind that Rhiesh is to blame for her bootless state. The raised booted foot is latched onto, Aril contracting all the muscles in her arm to hold on for deal life while trying to come up with a plan of unlacing the darn thing. "Admit it, these are /my/ boots!" Stubborn, that's Aril to a T. Well, stubborn and crazy, really.
Morian continues to laugh and manages to gasp out "Try grabbing it at the heal and pulling back and up at the same time." he holds his sides 'I'd help but I think you have it under control."
Rhiesh acks, gripping the seat of his chair with both hands and holding on for dear life. "Stop that! Leggo! They're not your boots! What do ya want, a monogram on 'em? Your feet are even too small for 'em!" Even his toes cramp up inside his boot to hang on. "You don't even really want 'em. They're stinky, and there's a hole wearing in the sole of one of 'em!" To Morian, he snaps. "Stop it! Why do you want her to steal my boots!" he wails.
Morian laughs hard and shrugs "She looks like she needs them. You want her feet freezing off?" he winks at Arilynne and murmurs "Try tickling him then make a grab for them."
Arilynne nibbles thoughtfully on her lower lip, but somewhere in her boot crazed mind she hears Morian's offer to help. Large clear green eyes, only slightly speckled with bits of amber, peer up at her savior. "Oh would you," she beams happily as she explains her idea. "Could you just, um, knock him off the chair and sit on him? That'd be such a /big/ help!"
Valyn stands to get a better view of the chaos. He looks towards Morian. 'Well? . . ' You got yourself into this.
Rhiesh heys! "No!" His arms wave wildly to fend Morian off. "They're my boots, honest! Why can't I keep 'em! My feet'll freeze! Why don't you get some new boots, Aril! These are bad ones, my toes are cold all the time, even! And they leak in the rain!" Bad boots. Not worth a fight.
Morian grins at her and shakes his head "Nope not me......but you can....and I'll take em off."
Arilynne artfully ignores Rhiesh, batting her pleading eyes at Morian. At his refusal, Aril stubbornly shakes her head. "If I let go, he'll run away," she points out logically. Well, so it's only her. Muttering something about false saints and indian givers when it comes to help, she applies her mental processes to the problem of Rheish's boots, her tongue sneaking out to be caught between off-white teeth as she considers her options.
Donnae comes back with her klah, then looks at ARilynne. "I've some spares I think.."
Valyn looks gratefully towards Donnae. Finally! Someone to, perhaps, stop this insanity.
Morian grins at Donnae with a Roguish expression on his face and looks at Rhiesh "Okay give em up Rhiesh, Donnae offered a pair of her boots."
Arilynne shakes her head wildly, wiggling around on the floor to move into a better stratigic position. "I don't want any others," she points out patiently. "I want /my/ boots back." Eyes flicker up to glare at Rhiesh. "Now."
Rhiesh watches Arilynne consider those options even while he glances around. If she wasn't gazing at him so intently, he might try gnawing his leg off to escape... nah, but then he'd lose the boot! He's got to hang onto that at all costs. "Look, Aril, there are some nice traders around. I'll bet we could get you some really great boots pretty cheap. I'd even help you! But you'll have to let go of my leg." Yeah, how's that for rational? At the offer, then Morian's interpretation, he acks. "What? No! I'm not wearing girl-boots!" Oh no, not this argument again.
Valyn has an idea. 'Rhiesh. You give the boots to Arilynne. I'll give you mine and get my extra pair later.' He immediatly sits and begins inlacing his boots.
Rhiesh wails! "Noooo! These are my boots! Leggo, Aril!"
Okay then. Guess that means he doesn't want the boots. Valyn stops unlacing and glares at
Rhiesh, marking him as the source of all this trouble. 'If those are your's then where did you put her's?! And don't try playing innocent!'
Morian begins to laugh at Rhiesh and stands "Hmmm maybe I should help." he peers at the boots and starts laughing and pointing "Look Donnae! Rhiesh is wearing girl boots!"
Donnae looks at Rhiesh's boots, and shrugs. "What's wrong with those boots?"
Arilynne grimaces, her face squelched up in concentration as she carefully flips one leg over Rhiesh's trapped one, sighing when the first part of her assault is complete. Now straddling poor Rhiesh's legs, she uses her thighs to control him, freeing up on hand to start to work on the laces, hands trembling with anticipated victory. Gotcha!
Rhiesh makes a little offended, chirruping sound, pressing his hand to breast, fingers splayed. He returns to Valyn, "I didn't put them anywhere! She's just irresponsible! And she's chasing me because she wants to see me naked!" Wait wait, that didn't sound right. "Because she's a Healer!" he tacks on. Now, does that sound better? Probably not, but just then, Arilynne tackles him. "Ack! Help! Cut it out! Stop it, they're my boots!" he declares inneffectually.
Valyn mutters a quiet, 'Oh no.' as Arilynne continues the assault. Naked?! This is getting progressivly worse.
Arilynne straightens, her back going ramrod straight at Rhiesh's words, her small mouth opening in a perfect O. Boots are forgotten as her reputation is attacked and she stands up, whipping around to face the blasphamer. "I /what/?!?!"
Morian grins and teases "Naked? Careful you too don't get caught. Could be real trouble for the both of ye." he grins and looks at Rhiesh "Now how can I help her....lets see." he grins at Rhiesh an idea popping to mind "Tell ya what. I'll make you some soft, brand new Alpaca hide boots if you'll give Arilynne yours..." then he grins "Course I could make some for Aril but she seems to want yours."
Donnae shakes her head. "Ridiculous.." She moves to a comfortable seat and sighs. "I don't think I want a pair of boots that badly if you ask me.. just sheerly ridiculous.."
Rhiesh tries to shrink back in his chair as Arilynne turns on him, but he doesn't have far to go, since she's already squishing him down. "You said so! Last time you were trying to take my boots, back when you hadn't /lost/ yours yet! You said you had to check--" And abruptly, he cuts off, cheeks coloring. Craning his neck around, he looks to the room's other occupants. "But you can just look and see for yourselves! Obviously that's what she's trying to do, and she's starting with my boots!"
Donnae shakes her head. "I'm sorry.. would anyone like something to eat?" She looks at the arguers. "That is if you're not too busy trying to strip each other?" She says heatedly. Hey, she has a headache.. who wouldn't after listening to this for the last hour.. She finishes her klah and moves to gather up another plate.
Valyn looks at the chaos. He would help, but they're beyond that. He now moves to level two: If you can't help them, ignore them. He just sits and sips quietly.
Arilynne blushes furiously, sitting on Rhiesh's trapped leg with all her weight. Ouch. Sparks should fly out her cat-green eyes as she glares at the boy, "I...Was...Trying...To...Help...You," she growls, enuciating ever single word. Suddenly a hurt look crosses her young face and tears begin to brim in her now hazel eyes. "I thought we were friends," she sniffles out. "First you steal my boots, then you accuse me of unspeakable acts. I'm a healer," she says, her chin lifting. "I only wanted to get you nude for scientific research. He has girl parts, you see," she explains to the gather around them.
Rain emerges from the courtyard.
Morian grins and shrugs offer of new boots ignored "Okay I'll make some new ones for myself, you two just continue to fight. I'll continue to laugh." he grins then blinks at Aril in astonishment "He has /what/?!?
Donnae looks at Arilynne, almost flabbergasted. "A boy with girl parts? Surely you must be kidding.." She blinks at the impossibility.
Valyn's eyes widen at this last statement, but he tries to ignore all this. Just sip your klah and stare. He can't help but inquire, 'How do you know this?'
Rhiesh wails his objection! "I don't! I swear I don't! All my parts are boy parts!" Arilynne almost tricked him with those tears, but now he can see that she's still a cold, cold girl. And that's not just because her boots are missing. "I don't /wanna/ be part of scientific research! I'm a perfectly ordinary guy!"
Rain strides calmly through the hall, whistling, but stops walking when he sees Valyn, and stops whistling when he hears the conversation that is occurring.
Valyn notices Rain and waves to his fellow Harper. 'Welcome to extreme chaos.' he says blandly as the discussion of guys with girls parts rages.
Rain
You see a tall man, about 6'3, with a medium build. Not a muscle-bound person at all, but
someone you wouldn't mind having at your side. His skin is of a slightly reddish hue,
probably, you think, due to the sun's rays, as this does not look to be a man unaccustomed
with the outdoors. He has long, sun-bleached hair, which is currently tied back with a
piece of leather. His eyes are sea blue, at least for the moment. They have been known to
change to steel blue, blue-green, green, and even silver. But for now, they are sea blue,
and there is a noticeable sparkle in his eyes as he smiles at you.
You see the knot of an Apprentice Harper adorning Rain's right shoulder.
Rain is wearing a pullover brown leather coat with a furtrimmed hood. This he immediately
shucks off after he gets inside, and you see a light-weight brown leather vest instead. He
wears pants to match the vest, and the pant-legs are tucked into his thigh-high wherhide
boots. Wind regards you, perched atop Rain's shoulder.
** You sense that Rain has glanced at you.
Arilynne ignores Rhiesh's protests deftly, nodding emphatically to Donnae, Morian, and Valyn. "Yes, girl parts. He told me himself. I was being helpful and thought that maybe he was confused." She leans closer to the trio, shaking her head sadly. "Some girls are rather slow to develop you see. I just wanted to clear thinks up for him. Er her." It?
Morian grins at Rain and begins to laugh at Rhiesh "Yes.....exactly /how/ does she know this?" his dark brown eyes dancing with mischief as he teases Rhiesh "You mean to tell me your part of scientific research and you didn't tell a friend?" he sighs in mock hurt "I'm almost /hurt/ by this."
Rain begins rubbing at his chin. "Uh huh. I see. Only /extreme/ chaos, eh? Not pure yet, then. Well, good."
Valyn nods, still in monotone. 'I figure we'll hit puire chaos when they insist he strips so we came know the truth.' And he dearly hopes it /never/ comes to that!
Rhiesh shakes his head back and forth in wild denial. "No, no, no! I'm a boy! Look at my chest, it's flat!" He thumps it for emphasis. "I have skinny boy legs and big feet! Arilynne, my boots wouldn't even /fit/ you!" The argument over the boots was a lot safer than this discussion is.
Rain Begins to crack a grin. "Then I'll have to wonder whether 'tis I should look away or she should."
Morian can't help himself now. At Rhieh's last words he breaks into laughter, gales of it making his body shake and shudder. He can't even speak he is laughing so hard, tears streaming out of dark brown eyes.
Donnae moves toward Rain and Valyn. "Mind if I join the camp? It looks like I won't really want to get involved in this situation... who knows who else they'll wanna strip."
Arilynne still isn't convinced about Rhiesh's parts, but leaves that problem be for the moment. Instead, she shimmies down his leg again, attacking the laces. "You're a horrible liar," she notes, sniffing with disdain. "And a horrible friend for stealing /my/ boots." Lower lips is gnawed again as she slowly works each lace free, flashing a beam of triumph at her progress.
Valyn grins, still shaking his head in disbelief at this mess. 'Of course. We'll protect you from boot-crazed stripers.'
Donnae nods. "Thank you very much."
Rain releases Wind, who launches into the air.
Rhiesh bats at Arilynne's hands. "Stop it! You're terrible! These are /my/ boots!" In desperation, he casts a look towards the others. "Are you just going to let her steal my boots like this? She doesn't even have any proof about who took hers!"
Morian grins at Aril and continues to laugh finally calming down enough to add "Okay Aril you sure you don't want me to make you a brand /new/ pair?"
Rain steps forward. "May I intercede here a moment?"
Valyn smiles towards Donnae. 'Any time. Hopefully this will not be happening again, though.' Hopefully if it does. he won't be here at the time.
Donnae nods. "I certainly hope it doesn't.. I don't know if my sanity'd hold." She admits wryly.
Rain says, "Okay. Now from what I understand, you are arguing over who stole who's boots, correct?"
Morian grins at Donnae and teases "Who said you had any sanity sis?"
Donnae looks at Morian and stick her tongue out again.
Valyn shrugs slightly and gestures towards the crowd. 'Well, comparitivily you're doing quite well.'
Arilynne nods resolutely at Morian. "It's not the boots really," she notes. "It's the principle of the matter. I can't let him get away with stealing my boots, who know's what he'll steal next?" Another lace is loosened as she talks, the boot becoming noticably looser. With a squeal of delight, she pulls, Rhiesh's boot falling with her as she lands with a thud on the stones. "Aha!"
Rain nods. "Well, Rhiesh said that his boots would not even fit you, if you'll remember. I suggest that we give one boot to each of you to try on, and the person whose foot it fits finest is the rightful owner."
Morian laughs and nods "Ah got one..." he grins at Rhiesh and shakes his head "You are incorrigible, stealing the poor girls boots. Gentlemen are supposed to loan them /not/ take someones."
Rhiesh wails, his grey-ish purple sock exposed. "Hey, give that back! What good is one boot gonna do you?" Uh oh, if she's got one, that means she'll be coming for the other. He stands up and begins scooting away, trying to put some furniture and several people between himself and the unshod Healer. "Yeah, you tell her!" he announces to Rain, not knowing who he is, even.
Valyn applauds Rain's idea. 'It makes sense.' Unlike this whole ordeal.
Arilynne smiles prettily up at Rain, "That's exactly what I'm going to do. And you'll regret ever stealing my..." Ari pauses, slipping her bare foot into the over-large boot. Her brow wrinkles in puzzlement and she blushes profusely before slipping the boot off again and handing it back to Rhiesh. "Oops, guess I was wrong. Sorry."
Valyn lets out a groan. After all that! 'Well at least the great mystery is solved.'
Rhiesh snaps at Morian, "I told you, I didn't steal her boots! She probably just lost 'em!" Several blinks are given to Arilynne as she returns his boot. "Um.... Thanks. I guess. It's okay." He's totally mystified now, but clutches the boot to his chest possessively.
Morian grins and then begins to laugh again "Oh shards and shells." he teases Aril "You need boots now eh?
Donnae looks at Arilynne and Rhiesh. "Are you satisfied now?" She asks in a sickeningly sweet voice.. Morian might recognize it as her truly-irritated-and-glad-it's-over-but-if-it-happens-again-I'll-go-bonkers voice.
Rain grins slightly. "Now that the issue is solved, hopefully we can quit the argumentation and get on with our lives?"
Arilynne purses her lips in thought before beaming at Morian, "Yeah, I guess I do." Drat, and she was /so/ sure... ah well, that's all in the past. "It's rather cold, you see." Muddied feet are lifted up so that Morian can properly inspect them. Ugh, she stuck those in your boot Rhiesh. Better wash it before you put it on again.
Morian grins and nods "Hmmm Okay, um surely your not going back to the hall tonight barefooted?"
Point well taken. Rhiesh skittles back to his chair, still clutching his boot. Odd looks are given those gathered, the ones who were so critical yet would not defend an innocent man!
