Medical Bay <Hunter HQ>
This room is kept immaculately clean and organized, from the polished tile floor to the bright exam lights and walls painted with soothing colors. Several repair and medical beds for robot and human patients line the walls, monitors above them indicating the status of the patient's vital signs. There are no windows here, as this is in the center of the floor and heavily reinforced against possible attack. It is here that the Maverick Hunter medics patch up the wounded.

Feedback is standing off to a side of the room just looking over at everyone who was just brought in watching as various techies go about their work. Not really doing anything since he's a bit out of it himself and half awake by now out of boredom.

Twila Peterson rubs the side of her head, entering the bay after awakening from a nap...that turned out to be somewhat longer than expected. Well that and...her cabbit was romping across her quarters within a frenzy and knocked her radio to the floor, somewhat deactivating it. So, if anything interesting came up...Twila would have been unaware of it. She blinkblinks...having an idea *something* have to go on while she was out by the activity she sees and glances towards Feedback. "Er...gathered I missed something..."

Feedback huhs and then looks over at Twila and smiles while waving. Judging by his answer, he is still half awake, "Hey there Twila. Eh? Oh, yeah, nothing much. Just a small riot and both Zero and Dischord being slagged by Bass. Don't worry about it, you didn't miss anything."

Twila Peterson just stares a bit at Feedback before shooting the activity around the tables a lingering glance. "They...going to be alright?"

Feedback nods slowly after yawning, "Yeah, they'll be fine. Cossack did a quick patch up on the both of them. But Zero's gonna be out of it for quite a bit. And Dischord really wants to go and kill someone right about now. Been blabbering bout it ever since she got back, a bit before too."

Twila Peterson just...erms...and facepalms. "Yep...sounds like they're going to be alright...or at least Disch is." Or at least...back to normal. "Thanks for the update." She stops to rub her eyes. "Things that happen when ya just take a small nap. Sheesh."

Feedback nods, "Your welcome. Hmm, maybe now I might be able to take that break without someone trying to throw a city into complete chaos."

Twila Peterson allows the corners of her lips to allow a tiny smirk. "Feedback, you take a break and fall asleep all the time anyway," she states in jest.

Feedback blinks and grins, "I do not. I only do that when I'm on duty in the command cen...Ahhh, never mind. You didn't hear nothin...Um, oh yeah. I tried to go on my break, and someone riots. Then Zero goes missing, then he goes insane, and then he gets slagged. Then Dischord gets reduced to junk, and I get to drag them back and probably end up writing this up as well. Yup, I think that I need a break right around now."

Twila Peterson grins a little more while adding a gentle pat to the reploids back. "Take care of yourself, kay, Feed?"

Feedback grins, "Hey, what are you worried about? This is me we're talking about. I'll be fine. So, how was your day? Hope you at least had a nice nap."

Him talking. That's exactly what Twila is worried about. ;-) "Oh, I'm fine, considering. And would have been a perfect nap if not for Kyo's romp. She usually naps with me. But...she was a bit more energic than I was I suppose."

Feedback nods and smiles, "Well, hope that you got some rest. So, how is little Kyo? She as energetic as ever?"

Twila Peterson nods in like, smiling now as well. "Yeah...very. Guess she's making up for all the time she was a bit subdued when all the temporal disruptions were taking place. She may be mechanical...but she has instincts or her organic counterparts. Guess she was able to detect some of the natural problems as they were taking place than some of us others."

Feedback nods, "Yeah, guess that it might. Well, we always make up for what we miss out on. So, how's the medical training going? Learn anything new? Graduate yet to a full doctor?"

Twila Peterson furrows her brow at the question. "Actually, I have no idea on that. I mean...I keep being taught and all. But as far as being fully trained...I personally doubt it. I'm sure Light, Cain, and Cossack have had years of training with with this sort of thing. I've...only had a few months," she answers. She casts an idle glance towards the wards two newest patients, recalling how one insists on actually calling her "Doc", and then towards the recovering Dr. Cain.

Feedback nods and smiles, "Well, least being called a doctor is something thats respectable. Not like its anything all that bad. Besides, don't ya think that it would be neat if you actually became a doctor? If nothing else, its quite a accomplishment. Besides, even if the others have years of experience and training, they all started somewhere, right? And right now, thats about where you are, whether or not you really wanna follow through is your choice. But I'd think that you'd make a pretty good doc if ya stuck with it. Heck, your probably better than I am already."

"Thanks for the vote of confidence. It's really appreciated," Twila replies, smiling more easily now. "Although...not sure if I could become one officially...at least not with a degree and all. That takes a bit of funds." Rick would have been able to inform Feedback of that she's sure. "Certainly something to think on tho. Anyway, no need to worry. I don't think I'm planning on leaving the Labs any time soon."

Feedback smiles, "Well, if you say so. It'd be a real shame if you did leave though. I'll be everyone would miss ya. Besides, who needs some stupid official piece of paper? Heck, with the best cyberneticists training ya, you've got the equivalence if not better of any two bit preppy kid who's flashing around a degree from some lame school. I'd bet that Rick would feel the same way, from what I've seen. He's lots better than some of the people I've met who've actually got a degree. In the end, I believe in experience rather than some stupid paper that says that you can do it. Doesn't do anyone any good if you can't perform when the time calls for it, right?"

Twila mentally wades through Feedback's verbal barrage. If there's one thing that this reploid is talented at, other than his working with computers, is talking. "Yeah, that's very true. I guess a degree can be looked on as someone stating in writing that your not an idiot if nothing more than that," she thinks aloud, and allows another smirk. "And yeah...I fully agree with Rick's talents. He probably exceeds where most of those with doctorates fall short."

Feedback nods and smiles, "Exactly. Besides, not like I'd trust one of dem docs with the stupid paper that says they can do it. Fresh out of prep school, they're worse than new recruits over at the Repliforce. Unsure of themselves or overconfident, nothing worse than that. Both are doomed to failure. Rather have someone who has a good reputation rather than some idiot who has a piece of paper saying that he's 20 times better than the Doc I'd rather use. Just look at all the amazing stuff Rick's done. He's built his own Ride Armor by himself. Lets see some two bit preppy kid do that. Then we can talk about a job for that kid."

"Not too mention Rick has such an impressive resume as it is," Twila notes, idly thinking of all his "extra" rolls that he seems to take up. "I'm really very proud of him. I just wish..." Her words trail off as some of her own self-doubts within her own abilities come to the foreground. Not that she allows them to get in the way when she performs her duties. Usually more often not up after the fact.

Feedback blinks as Twila trails off and then smiles doing his best not to let this conversation go sour, "Huh? You wish what? Come on, there's nothing in this world that wishing can't get. Its not the wishing part, its the part where you work at it and then go to attain your goal. Heck, I've had some of my wishes come true. A wish is just a goal, normally something that most people don't have the confidence to strive for. But then again, sometimes, those who are strong, can go and attain their goals and make their wishes come true. So, I wouldn't say that its a wish, more like a distant goal that's one day going to come true. Right? Always think positively and there's nothing that can bring you down, eh?"

Twila Peterson acks inaudibly. Yep...he can sure talk. Although, there's little she can do to say against what Feedback has just now stated. "Nope. Suppose not. Guess that's something I'm going to have to keep in mind and all...too keep myself from getting deterred."

Feedback nods, "Yeah, just like how I keep on trying to tell my bro. Its all about confidence. No matter how bad something seems, its always about the confidence. With it, your nearly invincible, and nothing can bring you down if you know that you can do something. When your down and just plain out of it, anyone can talk you out of things. Even when you know that its the right thing to do and you know that you have to do it. So, long as you've got that confidence and positive attitude, you'll feel like you can take on the world. And more than half the time, your probably going to be right."

Twila Peterson perks an eyebrow at that, appearing almost comical while doing so. "Definitely. Although...have to be careful of over-confidence too. Guess...just depends on how one maintains a good enough balance."

Feedback grins, "Yeah, gotta make sure we have some balance there. Wouldn't wanna go blundering into a trap. But still, I just think that you've gotta have that confidence. Anyways, guess that its a personal choice really. To each his own, we all believe in different things, and I for one, don't wanna influence someone the wrong way. All I try to do is offer an alternate perspective or view and leave it up to you to decide what you wanna do."

Twila Peterson nods with a smile. "Can't fault you for holding your own perspective, Feed. What makes us all unique. Thanks for shring it tho. Gave me some things to think on."

Feedback smirks, "Well, no way I can argue with that. And anytime you need someone's else rather unique opinion. Give me a buzz and I'll be happy to share it with ya. And if I start to trail off, I'm sure that you'll remind me. Well, hope that you got something useful out of this, and if theres anything else that I can help out with, don't hesitate to ask. Not something I'd normally do, but I'd be willing to make an exception to help you out if you ever need it. Legal or not, you know where to find me."

Have to give a debate on welfare tomorrow early in the morning. And since I based most of Feed's personality off of me. I'm not exactly a morning person. ;>
Twila Peterson is forced to chuckle somewhat towards the thought of that. At the moment, everything is alright. As to legal or "other" issues, well, she would honestly prefer legal if it can all be helped. But, well...she shrugs to herself on that. Other than the favor she and Rick asked him for a month or so ago...Feedback just being a friend is enough for her. "Thanks, Feed. It's really appreciated." She glances about casually to make certain no one is really in earshot before commenting. "By the way, guess you saw the report. Rick and I met her, our mother, several days ago. Friday night actually."

Feedback smiles and launches his million question march, "Really? Thats great to hear. So, what's she like? Where'd you find her? How'd you find her? Does she look anything like either of you? Where is she living? What does she do? Is she into cybernetics like Rick? Is she training like you are for a job?...."

Twila openly facepalms, although she does find the way the rush of questions are posed is quite amusing and just so...Feedback. "OK...OK..." she lightly giggles. "One at a time. " She pauses for a breath. "Rick tracked her down by going through web searches of his own. Just how he did it...you'd probably hafta ask him. Her name's Lauren Hemmings. She's around 40. And...she looks alot like me...although Rick does have her eyes and nose. Rick looks a lil more like our birth father really. Lauren was able to show us a picture of him."

Feedback nods, "Sounds like there's some noticible family resemblence there then. Interesting, really is. Guess that its quite an event for the both of ya, huh? Almost like when you found out that you were twins in the first place. Well, sounds interesting, so where does she live? Any idea of how you were separated from her? I only touched on the subject myself. Had a hectic week, I'm sure that you remember."

Tilting her head in thought, Twila ponders aloud. "Well, she lives in a small Southwestern Missouri town called Rolla. As for all the rest..." She muses a bit before continuing trying to figure how to phrase this, "She was young...probably a little younger than what Rick and I are now. She...at first wanted to sell me and Rick to support a habit she had. However when she saw us on the ultrasound...she couldn't bring herself to go through with it. She wanted to love and keep us herself. But..." she trails momentarily, "We were stolen from the nursery at the hospital several hours after we were born."

Feedback blinks and starts to think of why that sounds so familiar to him, "...I'm sorry to hear that. Um, you wouldn't happen to know who stole you from her, would you? This whole thing sounds so familiar to me. Pretty sure that I've heard or seen something very similar to this. Just can't seem to remember where I've heard this before...Its okay if you don't wanna talk about it. Guess it would be a sensitive topic for the both of you. And I'm real sorry to hear thats what happened. Its a shame, really is."

Twila Peterson bites her lip before proceeding, "Lauren isn't quite sure who did it. She...only knew that it might have been one of the girls she had 'worked' with who knew of the 'agency' that she originally contacted about...well...selling us before she decided against it. But, it's something we didn't really press on that night. She was...a bit upset over the memory as you can imagine. Rick and I were just relieved in knowing it wasn't by her choice. That she did want us." She then adds, "I recall we came to you before. But at the time we only knew of me and Rick being sold. And we thought it was her who did it. Just...glad we found out it wasn't her."

Feedback smiles, "Yeah, its nice to hear that it wasn't your mother who sold you two. Must of been a real relief...Sorry for pressing on such a delicate subject, but I'm pretty sure that this has happened before, well, something similiar anyways. Dangit, must of been in my damaged memory chips when I got scrapped. Hmm, maybe I'll get lucky and I made a log entry somewhere in my old back-ups. Only remember that whatever I forgot, was a good thing that I did forget it. But, might be a nice thing to remember it now so I could draw the blasted parallels between these situations. Well, just glad that you found her. So, you want me to call off the search? Or do you still want me to do some digging and see if I can track where you two went? I've got lots of spare time now. Almost been bored lately."

To be honest, Twila is rather intrigued by his offer. "You...wouldn't mind that? Rick and I would be grateful. We can't help but be curious as to what happened. And, like I said, after we were taken, Lauren wasn't aware of what had happened to us either."

Feedback smiles, "Sure, no problem. Like I said, if you ever need anything, just ask and I'll see what I can do. All I'd have to do is pull some strings and figure out what happens. It'll probably take me some time though and I can unfortunately offer no guaranties, since this information might not exist and its been a long time. It'll take some digging, but I'm pretty sure that I'll find something. Gotta be some kind of a trace left for me to follow. Besides, there ain't nothin thats going to keep me from trying...Well, unless I get scrapped by Bass or something. Well, you get my point. Think that I might already have an idea, but its the wrong location...Did the kidnapping happen in Missouri as well?"

Twila Peterson utters a sigh. "Not sure. Although...it might have been. My falsified birth certificate stated I was born in St. Louis. And from how Lauren spoke it sounded as if she at least remained throughout the same state through all of this. So, it probably was Missouri. Next Rick or I contact her we can always ask. And she might be able to provide the name of the 'agency' that she had orginally considered. If that ring was ever discovered there would be criminal files on it I'm sure." After all, the marketing of human children for sale *is* quite illegal. "Also, might help to know the names of my parents...the ones who adopted me. "Bordrick and Chelene Peterson. From what I recall the legal adoption itself was from a small organization that was based in Omeha, Nebraska. Can't recall the name offhand. Not even sure if that organization still exists."

Feedback nods slowly, "Well, its a start. Hmm, I'll have to see if I can draw some parrells with this now. Hmm, guess I should start looking in Missouri, then check to see who was the reigning king of the underworld and then this agency you were talking about. Probably hit dead ends with those last two, might be able to dig up something in Missouri, assuming thats where I should be looking. Hmm, better check up in Nebraska then, and then move on to the rest of the states. Probably a nation wide thing. Well, if I can dig up dirt on LiT, this shouldn't be that hard, eh? Hmm, which reminds me that I need to get back to my bro, have him help me out with this if its alright with you of course."

Twila Peterson nods in agreement. "Of course. That would be fine."

Feedback smiles, "Well, seems like everything's ready then for me to start looking around...Um, not to be rude, uncaring, or any other ways you'd like to put it. But, you have considered the idea that this may be some elaborate hoax, right? I mean, from what you've told me, it would have to be one masterfully set up plan, but I've learned to plan and expect any and all curveballs that life decides to throw at you. I mean, if I start digging, there is the possibility that I might uncover something no matter how unlikely that might contradict all of this. Hate to say it, but in this world, I've learned that there are no guarantees. Just hoping that if it happens, that it won't have that bad of an effect on you...Sorry for bringing it up, but its still something that could happen, even if I'm going to bet my last zenny that it won't happen."

Twila blinks upon that, not knowing how to respond. "Elaborate...hoax? What...exactly do you mean? Rick and are brother and sister. And I *know* I was adopted. And I know my adoptive parents wouldn't have deceived me knowingly."

Feedback nods slowly really not liking that he brought this up but still thinks that it has to be addressed just in case, "Well, yes. I agree that you are certain that you are Rick's sister. And your adoptive parents probably wouldn't of lied to you. But life can play cruel tricks on people. I've seen it happen to others. And if this whole kidnapping situation is true, then sorry that I'm the one saying this and I fully understand if you will hate me for this. Have you ever asked yourself how you ended up with your adoptive parents after you were kidnapped? Did they know that you were kidnapped? Think motivation. Why would you be kidnapped in the first place if somebody was just going to give you away. Yes, this may sound cruel and inhumane, but there is no profit in charity, and no reason for you to be kidnapped. Yes, selling humans is illegal, but why? Because people get money off of other human beings. Sorry to say it Twila, but your adoptive parents must of had some knowledge. And if this is a big time organization that we're talking about, then that also means that this goes deep. And when you go down deep, nothing is as it seems, always a bunch of people trying to out do each other and come out with more money than the other...."

Twila Peterson crosses her arms over her chest as what the reploid states strikes her as a physical blow. She turns away aruptly, not wanting her friend to see her suddenly tortured features. "Feed...my parents wouldn't have bought me. They weren't the type. Yes, they wanted to have a child since Dad was incapable of---. They wouldn't have regarded another human being in that way." She draws in a sharpened breath before adding. "You didn't know them." After composing herself she turns back around towards him. Her features are calmer...but are still somewhat strained. "If they knew anything regarding the adoption other than what they knew they would have told me. As for Lauren...she told me and Rick herself that she ultimately decided against selling us, that she would raise us herself, and if she found she couldn't she would find a home so that both of us could grow up together as brother and sister...not apart, not knowing one another."

Feedback nods slowly not liking this any more than Twila, but he doesn't show it. Something that he's learned to hide rather well, few really know how he's feeling half the time. "Well, I sure hope your right. I'm not going to push that part much more, but, maybe if it wasn't your parents that did it. Then there's this problem with whoever stole you. While maybe your adopted parents wouldn't do something like that. There is always this woman you just met. I mean, its great that you've finally found her, but given how things have been lately, I'm not exactly one to just see this as a happy moment with no strings attached. Maybe I'm completely wrong, heck 'I' hope I am. But I always try to consider all possibilities in these situations, cause I really don't want this to bomb on both you and Rick and wind up with a worse situation. Just, consider that it might be a possibility. Or you can dismiss it as you would garbage going to the dump. Like I said, don't take anything from me all that seriously. I'm just a crazy fool, and I guess that I should head off for some sleep before I go and do something even more stupid than what I just did. Hope everything works out for the best for the three of ya...I'll see ya later Twila, night."

Twila Peterson studdies Feedback quietly for a few more moments before unfolding her arms. As she then starts towards the entrance of the medical center she brings them down to her sides. She glances briefly once more towards him before mumbling quietly, not knowing if she can aptly handle the surge of doubt she experiences, "Thanks for...your help, Feedback. I'll let Rick know you'll be searching. Night..."
