Startrek vs. Borg

Rules:

I played my Star Trek Deck and Star Wars deck against the Borg. It is reccomended to have a sizable fleet. I reccomend Rebels and a Startrek Affiliation against the borg (working together)

I had 26 Starships, 15 pilots and 1 effect is Star Wars

I had 4 Starships, 14 Personnel in Star Trek

I played a very entertaining game against the borg!!!! The rules, like my SW vs ST varient, are surprisingly simple and favor the borg a little bit. Here it is: Arrange all your SW and ST starships on the floor in your favorite combination (luke on his ship...) All is played in SW rules so the following conversions are to be made:

All Staff Stars add one to Weapons

All Command Stars add 2 to Weapons

All AU Icons add 1 to the Shields

Weapons are equivelent to power

Shields are equivalent to Armor

Range is equivelent to hyperspeed

Forfeit equals Shields, but Star Trek Ships must be "destroyed" twice to be removed. The first time is considered Damaged, range = 5

Tractor Beam is not usable in this game. Cloaking is making a starship immune to attack.

The Borg are treated under special rules:

The Borg have a total of 24 Power or Weapons and may divided into any number of "sub weapons".  They can attack one starship with 8, another with 3, another with 13.

95% of the time, the borg destroy a starship outwright and don't damage a ST ship (SW starships are just destroyed)

To destroy a SW ship, they must dedicate the number of Forfeit to power, for a ST ship, to damage Forfeit +1, to destroy Forfeit *2 +1. Designate this number as variable f. Variable d = the number of weapons alloted to the starship.

To hit the Borg must get Destiny Greater than Maneuver, Armor or Shields. The Borg get a bonus to hit. This equals d-f. If the Borg is attacking the Millenium Falcon, Forfeit 7, Maneuver 9 (with Han and Chewie and Special modifications), if the borg put 13 weapons, they would get a bonus or 13-7=6 to hit. The destiny they draw + 6 > 9 to hit. Thus they must get a 4 or more. The reason for this complicated method is that they must concentrait an ammount of fire equal to the hull (forfeit) and then spread the rest of the fire in order to make the chance of a hit greater.

The other starships have it harder. In order to hit they must get a 6. Star Trek ships may also hit with a five because of their weapon modulation. Keep track of the Borg's Armor, then of its hull using cards. The starships do damage (if they hit) equal to 1+ (weapons/6) Round down. A starship with weapons 7 would do 2 Damage if it hit. A Starship with 12 weapons would do 3. Most starships (with weapons 1-5) do one damage.

The borg have 24 Armor and 24 Hull. They regenerate by 2 a turn. Each point of damage is applied to Armor. When armor reaches zero, the armor is destroyed. Borg can only regenerate hull then. When Hull is reduced to zero, the Borg are destroyed. After Armor is depleted indicate it by turning the borg sideways.

The deck from which all starships draw destiny is filled with all cards except the Starships in play. This makes the destiny incredibly high. Any destroyed Star Wars starships are inserted in this deck.

Why are these rules special? Because they include adapting. The Borg usually wipe out a starship even if they get a zero. They don't care about destiny. A smart Borg player will target Corvettes or starships with low destiny. This will reduce the destiny. As the Destroyed starships are inserted, the number of sixes goes down. This causes less hits as the borg adapt to the tactics and weapons used by the SW and St people. Eventually the number of sixes will be so low that it wil be almost impossible to hit.

If the borg win too often or by too high a margin, change the rules to 5's and 6's hit the borg. My deck has 7 6's, this makes for a fair game.
