humans

a martian perspective

it is exactly this type of irrationality that drives some people off the proverbial edge. once you notice that you can't fully understand the world in rational terms how do you make decisions that make any rational sense? what criteria can you base your decision on that doesn't have some form of relativity attached to it?

we all grow up learning some language, from there on some of us learn to read and write. some of us then go and analyze these blotches on paper, or computer screens, and then realize that they don't really have any intrinsic value attached to them. this sometimes leads to the complete incomprehensibility of a sequence of letters that used to makes sense just a week, or even day, ago.

at the best universities and research institutes we study the behavior and working of individuals and, even more complex, societies, but it just doesn't seem to make as much sense as we'd like it to. we keep coming up with new classifications and explanations, which sometimes need further classification and explanation.
