Pretty Hate Machine-Halo 2, 1989. This was Nine Inch Nails First album, after the release of the "head like a hole" single. This album absolutely rocks and brought Nine inch Nails to the front of the music world in 1990. However, the label that Trent was under at the time TVT, (gravity kills, ect.) was ripping him off and trying to tie him down with contracts. So after a huge court battle Nine inch Nails was finally out of their TVT contract. The next step was to sign on to Interscope and the development of Nothing Records came about. However, one result of the court decision made it so the TVT emblem still appears on all albums even thought thy are not affiliated any more.

Broken-Halo Five, the Second Album, 1992. This was an EP and if you bought the CD version, you also got 2 bonus tracks on a mini disk. (for those not born in the 70's, I mean a small CD, not mini-disk in the modern sense) The musical style of this album was quite a separation form Pretty Hate Machine. Broken relies more heavily on guitar riffs to get its point across and Trent actually got a Grammy award for this album. Also, MTV's "Alternative Nation" used the video of Pinion for its intro, but cut the last few seconds for good reasons.

    TRACKS:

  1. Pinion

  5. Happiness in slavery
  6. Gave up
  7. Physical
  8. Suck

Fixed-Halo 6, 1992. This Import EP was a remixed version of all the songs off of Broken. It is not one of my favorites just because I'm not too keen on many remixes.. but some of them are rather cool. ALSO!! I was at Marine World one time.. and I was watching one of the water shows.. and it blew me away when I herd then playing one of the songs off of this album for background music.. it was VERy weird.. I wonder if they got permission to use the music.. HHMM!!!???

  1. Gave Up
  2. Wish
  3. Happiness in slavery
  4. Throw this away
  5. Fist Fuck
  6. Screaming Slave

the Downward Spiral-Halo eight, 1994. Another triumph for the NIN team.. This album is wonderful! It has the perfect amount of guitar and synth to make it so you never tire of hearing any of the songs. This album also put NIN in the mouths of every little annoying bastard I know of. The song Closer, the Third single, all of a sudden kicked NIN into the spotlight and amazing popularity. However, the song may be very good, but most people liked it only for the chorus of "I want to fuck you like an animal." I was at the concert at SJSU and this little punk kid in front of me was going off about how closer was Next and he could not wait to sing that line at the top of his lungs.. However.. since the little prick probably had not listened to any of the other songs on the album.. he would have realized that CLOSER WAS NOT EVEN THE SONG BEING PLAYED!!! AHHH!! IDIOT!!! I wanted so smack him across the head..

    TRACKS:

  1. Mr. Self Destruct
  2. Piggy
  3. Heresy
  4. March of the pigs
  5. Closer
  6. Ruiner
  7. the Becoming
  8. I do not want this
  9. Big man with a gun
  10. a warm place

  14. 14. Hurt

Further Down the Spiral-Halo 10, 1995. This album is just Remixes of the Downward spiral.. some are very good.. Some lag on for a while..

The Fragile-Halo 14, 1999. FIANALLY!! A NEW Nine Inch Nails!!! Ohh damn.. This album is soo awesome.. Since it is a 2 CD set.. there are more instrumental songs. Very nice. It has the perfect amount of hard songs intermixed with the instrumental songs to create a really easy to listen to album. Trent did an interview about this album.. it has songs about is grandmother. She died a while ago, and since he was very close to his grandmoter, her passing left him with quite a gapeing hole. He finally realized he was very depressed and began work on another album because that is usually a good way to deal with his pain. "I can't wait to join you" is one of the many songs about her and if you listen to the words its very touching. Also, Starfuckers is about the falling out of the Manson crew. Marilyn Manson decided to become an Ass after Trent got him famous.. he would not be in the place he is now if it were not for the help of Nothing Records. The song is fucking funny if you ask me. This is an EXCELLENT album.. I suggest you all try it.
