Romance is the glamour which turns the dust of everyday life into a golden haze.
            --Elinor Glyn

Zariya will make an appointment with Alexis in the week following court, to go over the Public Works Department and all that nice stuff.

Alexis has offices in the former dorm at the former university [Now the King Oberon School of Trade and Skills] that got taken over for overflow city gov offices.

Paula is a nice small oriental looking woman with black hair, polite and running the front desk. Who, for what reason and for about how long? Paula would politely inquire.....

The gentleman making the appointment for Zariya is an older gentleman, dressed finely, with salt-and-pepper hair and moustache. "It'd be for the Lord Mayor, Zariya Al'bariman, to discuss the Public Works department, and so on." He pauses for a moment, "I'm not sure how long it'd take, lass, but I think it'd be safe to say an afternoon."

Paula bends over her books, flips a few pages. "Day after tomorrow, one pm until whenever." she announces and looks up.

"That sounds good," he murmurs. "If there's a conflict, I'm sure she can reschedule." He sounds rather nonchalant about his employer's schedule, but since he's here making the actual appointment, he probably knows what he's talking about.

Paula takes a pen and writes in the book. "Day after tomorrow, one pm until..." and takes a small card and writes that on there too and hands it over.

He takes it, and slips it into a jacket pocket, "Thank you."

A slight pause ensues as the gent looks over the lady, then he asks, "And would you be free f'r dinner tonight?"

The gent gets a careful hairpart to shoe soles looking over in return. "Tomorrow is my half day." she says finally.

He smiles charmingly at her, "Then, if I might have the pleasure of your company tomorrow evening, I would be most honored. My name is Ramirez."

Paula smiles nicely, "Paula Chung." she replies. "At what time?"

"I hope seven sounds good," Ramirez replies. "Where may I pick you up at?"

"Here would be fine. It's a place we can both find..." Paula keeps the smile.

"I will see you at seven, tomorrow evening then," Ramirez replies with a grin. He tips an imaginary cap, and exits, stage right.

            Inquiring minds:

            Does Ramirez show?

He does indeed show for the date. He dressed nicely, and brought a bouquet of wildflowers that still bloom this late into the year.

Paula is dressed nicely too, in a jade green silk dress and a nice dark brown cloak. She accepts the flowers graciously and takes an arm for a nice meal with pleasant company...

(OOC: That bit of the thread ended, but I assumed they had a nice time.)

Does Zariya show for her appointment?

Yes, she shows up, not nearly as chipper as Ramirez was for his date. She looks tired or overworked, and has a huge sheaf of papers with her.

Paula would check the appointment book and tells Zariya "Fifth floor, last on the right on the outer left hall to your right. Number five fifteen. You are expected, your highness."

"Thank you," Zariya replies, heading up.

Up on five the instructions are clear, the place was a dorm once and there is a center cross hall and four legs, like an H. Near the end of one hall, the number plaque says 515, and a small hand lettered sign was added saying "Knock"

Once Zariya reaches the door, she knocks twice.

            A muffled "Yes? It's open..."

Zariya opens the door and smiles a bit at Alexis, "Greetings...I hope that you are ready to go over some numbers?"
