A small press conference was hurriedly convened in the public area of the Postmaster's main office in Wettin to make a policy statement regarding new and ongoing transport projects. The new offices, climbing slowly skyward from a huge pile of recycled stone, casts a long shadow across the road, with a backdrop of leaden clouds from a myriad charcoal ovens and smithies evoking Blake's "Jerusalem". Distantly, a hundred staccato thumps of hammer on anvil resounded like the approaching hooves of apocalypse.
"Gentlemen, ladies," the spokesman began, neatly uniformed if not similarly well shaven. "I have been authorised to issue the following press release: 'Despite opposition, the Postmaster's Office has from within its own budget authorised the commissioning of the Amber Light Railway project. It is anticipated this service will compliment the proposed canal network, which heavy traffic will be ultimately diverted to. As initially advised, this service will be provided free of charge during the trial phase, with a fleet of first, second and third class rolling stock being commissioned as the network is expanded. The new transport terminus building in Viallevale will become the headquarters of the Amber Light Railway and also the tollhouse for canal tow paths.
