Protests have broken out in areas of Amber city damaged by Mecklenberg terrorist attacks. Hysterical ultranaitonalists have also begun gathering in the lower districts of the town, speaking out against the new mayor, Princess Zariya. Princess Zariya's banner, the city banner have been burned in the streets, and the princess has been burned in effigy.
Protests began when news broke that Crown Princess Zariya was instrumental in gaining special protective escorts for Lady Pearl's cargo ships in amber. Lady Pearl's Amber operations are owned in a joint venture with Trinity-Kappella Enterprises (TKE) owning 49% of the corporation.
TKE is the military-industrial combine that accounts for most of the private-sector economy of Trinity and Kappella. The multinational corporation is wholly owned by members of House Mecklenberg and headed by King Reinhart's wife, Queen Sarah. It is intimately entwined with and probably inseperable from the Trinity and Kappella governments and the royal house.
The Mecklenbergs are bitter enemies of Amber, and have sworn to unseat Oberon. Many Amber citizens were killed and wounded a year ago when the Mecklenbergs dynamited the Trinity embassy rather than let it fall into Oberon's hands.
"By cooperating with those thugs, the mayor spits upon our suffering," shouted one protestor.
Protests have also broken in Viallevale, where citizens were killed and wounded during a Mecklenberg terrorist attack there.
