The Card: The Hanged Man in the Crowley Thoth deck does not mean stasis. Rather, it means redemption through sacrifice and suffering. Ill-dignified it indicates suffering as well, except as a punishment rather than redemption. It also means pain and failure.

The Character: Poor Eric. Failure is a cornerstone in his life. Even now, with Oberon ruling as King, he's disrespected at almost every turn. Still, he keeps his head up and, as we say it here, 'sucks it up'. I think he's biding his time until he can make another bid for the throne, but that's just me.
