Zariya will send a letter to her cousin, Dunstree...provided that the messenger/mailer can find him in his wanderings.

            Dunstree,

I was greatly saddened by your resignment of the Mayorship of Amber. I hope that the next Mayor will be as civilized as you were. I believe you to have been a good leader for the city, showing a way for Amber to raise herself above all others. Unfortunately, such changes take time. It is most unfortunate that time was not spared before many of your plans saw fruitation.

You will always be welcome here in Viallevale. I will have a room cleaned immediately, and set aside for you when you come to visit, which I hope you will do so.

            Zariya

            Dear Zariya,

Thank you for your kind words. However, the proverb about leading a horse to water usually assumes that there is not a rider in the saddle driving spurs into the flanks. But enough about Oberon.

I have confidence in young Pepper. She has the ferocity the job requires, and she and my sister Alexis like and respect each other.

I believe I may visit you in Viallevale. Right now, I wish to remain in Amber until I know Gerard is well. Consider the room you've reserved for me free for others until you heard good word of Gerard's health.
