The Card: The 9 of Swords represents Cruelty. It is the card of despair and hopelessness. It represents worry, suffering, and loss. It can also mean malice, oppression, lying and shame. Well-dignified, it means obediance, faithfulness, patience, and unselfishness.
The Character: Zariya is one of my characters, so, like with Lucretia (6 of Swords), I'll try to be honest, but it'll probably be biased anyway. Zariya can live up to the well-dignified portion of her card. When things are going her way, she can be very generous and patient. She is pretty unselfish, most of the time. However, when pissed, her card also fits. She is way capable of inflicting harm on a person without thinking twice about it. I described her once as being about two steps away from being a sociopath, and that's pretty accurate as far as the 'no conscience' thing goes. She can be very petty and vengeful when she feels that she's been slighted, and she has made some definite enemies during her stay in Amber. However, as she says, everything that she does is for the betterment of Amber. Really.
