(Amber City) King Oberon sent the Amber Royal Navy to dock at Saltspray Beaches using the modern port that Prince Maxwell made while current labour disputes are resolved at the Amber Docks.
Prince Gerard is taking advantage of the openness to begin to dredge the harbour using Royal Navy personnel. Many old scows and wrecks are being recovered and are kept by the admiralty for their own purposes.
Merchant ships are being diverted to Hiram, Saltspray and the Amber Islands. Much of the trade already has been to the Amber Islands before the stike.
Prince Caine meanwhile has been using the down time to lay the foundations of the new Drydocks for his fleet on the site of the old facilities adjacent to the main docks. It is being guarded by his own liveried troops.
Princess Flora moved her yacht, The Napoleon, from Amber City docks to moorings off Saltspray. She refuses to use the Amber Islands.
Meanwhile there has been an increase in shipping off the toll roads. Many merchants aware of the brigandage and highway robbery have formed large convoys with mercenaries and talks are reported underway with several princes to rent some of their soldiery.
The root cause is still unclear though reports have it that King Oberon just threw up his hands and said, "Women!"
Lord Bances of the Great Powers Council points out that Oberon's system is rotting like stale fruit on the tree and like an overripe plum is nearing the time when it will fall off into the hands of the GPC of its own accord. "Everyone knows this is what happpens when you let women run things. Look at the cat fight in Amber between the Mayoress and the Harbour Mistress. I wonder if it is over a man. Maybe Rory? Or that overdressed Christmas Tree, Laszlo? Well it cannot be that fop of a pedantic ex monk - no woman would touch him."
The esteemed prelate of the Church of the Swayvillist Dragon chuckled and added,"I am surprised we don't have more of those half elf harpees lined up to join in the spat. Zariya and Alexis and Sabine must be really feeling left out. Alexis is spatting with that Princess Cher over some guy called Sonny, I heard."
