RDO’s What A Rush x RDO’s Lady Bird

Junior was the pick male out of RDO’s What A Rush ("Rusty") bred to RDO’s Lady Bird ("Birdie"), a litter which was whelped shortly after we lost Rusty very unexpectedly to a pancreatitis attack. Junior was a BIG Golden, fully 24 and 3/4 inches at the withers.

Here he is as a 6-9 month old puppy winning a Specialty Sweepstakes class, despite his very puppyish growth spurt which left him looking WAY up on leg and almost square! His very first show outing as an adult netted him a Major pointed win, unfortunately, that photo has been lost.

Here is my favorite photo of Junior, a candid shot I snapped one sunny day while he lounged beneath a tree. During a health crisis, I placed him temporarily with a family hoping to finish his championship after I was out of the hospital, but they unknowingly neutered the dog, not understanding that this rendered him ineligible for further conformation competition. Fortunately I got one spectacular litter out of him before that happened, so he figures prominently in the "What A ….." bloodline of RDO dogs.
