The Eluminum and Tamuli
These two series, also by David Eddings, are good, though not quite as good as Belgariad and Mallorean. I think the characters in these series are quite as identifiable. I'm sure there are people who would disagree with me.
Anyway, the Eluminum begins with the Ruby Knight. Sparhawk, an exiled knight, returns in order to rescue the kingdom and its princess from a growing evil. The princess, under a spell, will die if she is removed from a crystal "coffin." Sparhawk fights court corruption and greed in order to free the princess of her spell and save the kingdom.
Now, as far is the Tamuli is concerned I can't remember it very well. If someone would jog my memory on it, I would greatly appreciate it.
