The Aprentice Adept
Of the six or seven books in this series, I have read the first three, Split Infinity, Blue Adept, and Juxtaposition. They tell the story of two mirror worlds where every person has a counterpart. One world, Photon is completely scientific with robots and other machines. The other, Phaze, is a land of magic and mythical beasts. As the juxtaposition nears, people start crossing between the worlds and causing havoc in the opposite world. One such man from the science world, resembling a high magician, is transported to the magical realm. There he fights unicorns, magical adepts and other fierce beasts in order to understand the changes coming to both lands.
