attracted to Fry's slovenly ways. While she is tough on the rest of the crew, she continues to promote Fry in exchange
for lusty favors. When Bender discovers their secret affair and threatens to tell the others, Morgan retaliates
by downloading his brain. Fry confesses the whole mess to Leela and the others and asks for their help in retrieving
Bender's hard drive. Deep in the maze of Central Bureaucracy, the crew run into the one person who can help them
navigate all the red tape - Hermes. Not only does he get Bender up and running, he sends Morgan packing!
Episode 25: The Deep South
During a group fishing trip, the crew competes to see who can catch the biggest
fish. Using an umbrella handle for a hook and Hermes' Manwich for bait, Bender reels in a colossal-mouth bass!
The massive fish pulls the Planet Express ship underwater, and drags it to the ocean floor.
Fry utilizes the Professors new anti-pressure suppository and joins Zoidberg and Bender as they scrounge for food.
While exploring a sunken pirate ship, Fry sees a beautiful mermaid! Back aboard the ship, nobody believes his story.
Later, the mermaid, Umbriel, swims outside Fry's window and beckons him outside. He goes to her - and they disappear
into the calming sea.
The next morning, the crew forms a search party and discovers the lost city of Atlanta! Inside they run into Fry
at the Krispy Kreme donut shop. Despite his friends' pleas to return home with them, Fry decides to stay in Atlanta
with Umbriel. That night, as the two lovebirds get closer, Fry discovers that human-mermaid sex is not possible.
He immediately changes his plan and frantically tries to reach the Planet Express ship.
Episode 26: Bender Gets Made
While at a taping of his favorite cooking show, Essence of Elzar, Bender gets
overly excited and tries to snap a picture of Elzar in action. The flash stuns Elzar who accidentally sprays a
peppery substance into Leela's eye, blinding her. Afterwards, Elzar feels horrible and offers to prepare the group
a fabulous meal at his restaurant. They accept - not realizing that Elzar is going to charge them full price! When
they can't come up with the cash, everyone gets arrested, so Bender volunteers to work off the bill by bussing
tables.
During one of his shifts, Bender meets a group of Robot Mafia guys. They are impressed with Bender's chutzpah and
offer him a chance to join them on a cigar heist. In order to pull it off, Bender fakes illness to the Planet Express
crew and makes them think he's resting in his room. On the Mafia ship, he's shocked to find out that their target
is the Planet Express ship! After a wild exchange of gunfire, Bender and the Mafia bots board the ship. By blindfolding
the crew and adopting a fake accent, Bender escapes recognition. He helps with the heist and offers to stay behind
and "take out" the crew. With the Mafia guys gone, Bender pretends he's been on board all along - and
none of his friends realize the truth.
Episode 27: Mother's Day
Mother's Day in the year 3000 is full of new traditions. Only robots celebrate
this holiday and they honor Mom, the beloved human owner of Mom's Friendly Robot Company. This year, a bored and
lonely Mom enlists the robots in a revolution to take over the world and make her Queen. Her plan includes reprogramming
every robot to turn against their human masters at exactly the same moment by using a remote control she keeps
hidden in her bra.
Mom's three sons devise a plan to thwart world destruction and approach the Professor to help. Seventy years ago,
Mom and the Professor had a steamy love affair. Mom's sons believe that if the Professor can rekindle the romance
he can also recover the remote control. The Professor agrees to give it try with a visit to Mom's remote country
cabin in the Bronx.
With all robotic and electric appliances gone haywire, the crew has no transportation, so Fry "invents"
the wheel and builds a cart. Once at the cabin, the Professor initially fights with Mom over who was at fault for
their breakup. But the heated argument leads to passion and the Professor is so caught up in the sexy reunion,
he forgets to deactivate the attacking robots. The entire Planet Express crew bursts in and scrambles to find Mom's
bra, while the angry robots close in! When Bender shows up, bent on destruction, Mom must convince him to disobey
her initial orders and help her in her time of need. With Bender's help, the robotic coup d'etat is put to a stop
and world order is restored!
Episode 28: The Problem with Popplers
Stranded in the galaxy with nothing to eat, Bender, Leela and Fry land on a remote
planet. They discover hoards of yummy little creatures and import them to Earth. After deciding on the name Popplers
for their new delicacy, Fry and Bender set up shop as Poppler street vendors.
After tasting a Poppler, a local franchise magnate strikes a deal to distribute Popplers through his fast-food
chain. Popplers become a cultural phenomenon as Earthlings become addicted! Leela and the others ignore the pleas
of animal activists who insist that Popplers should be spared the cruelty of human consumption. However, the next
day Leela is about to pop a Poppler when it looks up and calls her "mommy." Horrified, Leela spearheads
a "Save the Popplers" campaign and creates a national debate.
Shortly thereafter, everyone learns the nauseating truth about Popplers: They are, in fact, baby Omicrons! Seeking
retribution, the Omicrons vow to eat one human for every Poppler baby eaten: roughly 198 billion people! Zapp Brannigan
negotiates a compromise: the Omicrons can eat the first human to ever eat a Poppler. Unfortunately, that's Leela!
At the live broadcast of the human-eating, Zapp tries to trick the Omicron leader into eating an ape instead of
Leela, but a hippie activist ruins the plan. Everyone watches helplessly as the Omicron puts Leela in his mouth.
Just as he is about to bite down, Leela's pet Poppler arrives to save her! As the humans celebrate, the Omicron
satsifies his hunger by eating the activist...with psychedelic results.
Episode 29: Anthology of Interet I
When the Professor invents a "What If" machine, the crew tests it by
tempting fate and their own destinies. First, Bender wonders what his life would be like if he were a 500-foot
robot. The results are disastrous as the new big, bad Bender finds himself isolated from his robot pals and befriends
a lonely Fry. But after accidentally killing Hanson concert goers, Bender goes on a psychotic rampage, battling
a giant Dr. Zoidberg and destroying most of New New York!
Next, Leela decides to shed her predictable image and wonders what would happen if she were more impulsive. She
is shocked to discover her devious new self when the Professor names her his heir. Driven by greed, Leela impetuously
shoves the Professor into a pit of man-eating anteaters. A murder mystery follows, with each of the Planet Express
crew members suspicious of Leela. One by one, they confront her. One by one, she kills them all!
In the last scenario, Fry asks what his life would've been like had he never been sent to the 30th Century. If
Fry hadn't been transported, there would've been a tear in the very fabric of time! So, Vice President Al Gore
and his space-time continuum posse kidnap Fry and try to force him into the future. When Fry's friends from the
future intervene, things go haywire and the universe as we know it implodes!
