PIT BULL                                                       

    Riker, Worf and Geordi are sitting in ten forward sharing a drink up by the main window.  They are all facing inward watching everyone having a good time.  Geordi sees a young female Lt. Gets up and heads towards the exit and asks, "Have you asks her out yet?"  As he looks at Riker.
    Riker shakes his head no and answers him, "I tired but she turn me down flat."  He looks at Worf and asks, "How about you Worf?"
   Worf takes a sip of his drink and the answers, "I do not date anyone in my security staff."
   Riker looks down at his empty glass and says, "I think I'm going to call it a night, I use to be able to stay up almost all night and still make to work on time."
   Both Worf and Geordi nod their heads as they too stand up and head toward the exit together.  They stop at a turbolift and when its doors open they see a young male Lt. laying on the floor in a pool of blood.  Riker quickly bends down and says, "It's Lt. Johnson and he still alive!"  He hits his communicator and says, "Medical emergency, we have a man down!  Emergency transport!"   He moves away a little bit as he sees him being transported off the turbolift.  Looking down at the pool of blood he looks up at Worf and says,  "I want to know where he got on this turbolift and when!"
   Worf nods his head yes as he too looks down at the blood and says, "I want who ever did this!"
   Geoedi knees down looking at the pool of blood and says, "This does not look good."

   Dr. Crusher is standing over Lt. Johnson as she runs a medical tricorder over him; she turns him over and sees a hand of a knife sticking out of his back.
   Nurse Ogawa puts a hypospray to his neck and then looks at Crusher who has pull the knife out and is handing her a bloody knife.  She shakes her head no as she puts the knife down on a table next to her as she hands Crusher some cloth as she asks, "Is he going to make it?"
    "He's not going to die if I help it!"  Crusher answers as she keeps working on his back, with a very mean look on her face.
   Just then Riker comes into sickbay and then first words out of his mouth is "How is he?"
   "He's going to live, but he has lost a lot of blood."  Crusher answers as she gives Riker a quick glance.
   Riker lets out a breath and says, "I'll wake the captain."  As he turns and heads out of sickbay.

   Picard is sitting at a table in his cabin as he drinks some tea as he listens to Riker's report on the attack on Lt. Johnson.  He puts down his cup and asks, "What do you know about Lt. Johnson?"
   "I meet him the day last week when he came on board, he seamed very happy to be on board.  He works in cargo bay two."  Riker answers with a sad look on his face.
   "It did not take long for him to make a enemy."  Picard says as he gets up and walks over to a viewer and as he adds, "Let take a look at his file and see what we can find out there."
    Both men stand in front of the viewer as they sees what is on it, Picard shows a sour look on his face as he says, "He was in the judge advocate office for five years as their top investigator."
   A man can make a lot of enemies in five years."  Riker adds as he looks closer at the viewer and adds, "Look what they called him?  Pit Bull for the way he investigate people."
    Just then the door chimes sound and Picard says, "Come."   Without taking his eyes off the viewer.
   Worf walks in with a very mean look on his face, he looks at Picard and Riker and says, "I have check the computer logs, it says that Lt. Johnson got on the turbolift ten minutes before we found him, on level 33.  His quarters are on level 2."
   "What was he doing so far from his quarters?"  Picard asks quietly as he turns away from the viewer. 
   "He may have been visiting a friend or heaven help us, investigate someone!"  Riker answers as he looks at Picard and then Worf.
   "Let's hope he was just seeing a friend number one."  Picard answers as he turns towards his bedroom and adds, "I'm going to get dress and go to sickbay and see how he is doing."
  "I have posted a guard in sickbay, his attacker may try again."  Worf says as he turns to leave Picard cabin.

   A few minutes later Picard and Riker enter sickbay and see a young female security officer standing next to a biobed.  Crusher is running a scaner over Lt. Johnson who is unconscious.   He walks over to Crusher and asks, "How is he doing?"
   She looks at her scanner and then says, "He is lucky to be alive.  If the knife had been an inch more to the right it would have severed his spinal cord.  Two inches higher and it would have ripped his heart open!"  She puts the scanner down and adds, "Someone hit him on the head first before stabbing him and cracking his skill!"
   "It looks like someone tried real hard to kill him!"  Picard says as he looks down at Lt. Johnson.
   Just then Worf comes into sickbay followed by a tired look Deanna Troi, Worf walks up to next to Picard and says, "We have talk to everyone on level 33 but one."  As he looks over at young female security officer who is looking down at Lt. Johnson.
   She looks up at them and says, "This is the first time I have seen him Sir."
   Deanna looking at her and looks at Picard and then at Worf as if to says, "I have something to says too you."
   Crusher who has had her back to them turns around with the knife in her hands as she says, "This is the knife I pull out of his back."  She hands it to Riker as she moves back to the biobed.
    Riker looks down at the knife and sees that it's a small double-edged blade and says, "It's an Hyades assassin knife."
   Worf growls as he says, "A coward's weapon!"
    Riker hands the knife to Worf as he says, "It's still a very deadly little weapon if you ask me."
    Picard looking at Deanna says, "Let's sees what we can find out about who may have wanted to kill Lt. Johnson."  He turns and walks out of sickbay with Deanna, followed by Riker and Worf.
   Once outside of sickbay Deanna stops and says, "Lt. Thole is lying about knowing Lt. Johnson!"
   Worf looks back towards sickbay and says; "I will find someone to replace her."
   "No wait, if she is the one that attack him we do not want to scare her off just yet."  Picard answers as he looks towards sickbay.
   "I will start to look in Lt. Johnson file and see if I can find anyone on this ship who may want to hurt him."  Deanna says as she turns and starts to walk away.
   "I'll give you a hand, if you like?"  Riker asks as he catches up with her.
   Picard looks at Worf and says, "I want who every did this to be capture before we get to star base 329 in two days!"
   Worf nods his head as he walks away from Picard with a big frown on his face, he says to himself as he get on to a turbolift, "I will catches this coward, before we get to star base 329!"

   Inside of sickbay, Lt. Thole looks down at Lt. Johnson as Crusher walks into her office, she raises her right hand and puts it on top on his hand and says, "Get will my love."  She gives a quick look towards Crusher's office as she wipes a tear off her face.

   Riker tries to wipe the sleep from his eyes as he is reading a viewer on a desk as Deanna drinks some coffee, she looks at him and holds out he cup as she says, "Want some?"
    Riker shakes his head no as he stares at the viewer and says; "I have found something here!"
    Deanna leans closer as she asks, "What is it?"
   "There are only two people on the Enterprise who he every was in contact before coming on the Enterprise?"
   Deanna looks at the screen and says slowly, "Lt. Jean Thole and Lt. Reginald Barclay."  She looks at Riker and says, "Lt. Barclay's cabin is on level 33 too!"
   "I think we need to have a word with Lt. Barclay."  Riker says as he puts his hand over his mouth as he feels very sleepily.
    "I think we both should take a short nap, or will be falling asleep and that will not do Lt. Johnson any good at all."  Deanna says as she too puts her hand over her mouth.
  Riker nods his head yes as he stands up and heads towards the door as he says, "I will be back in four hours and I will have Barclay in your office at that time."

   Four hours later Riker, Deanna and Worf are sitting in Deanna office and Worf is saying, "Everyone I have talk to, has said the same thing is that he was always asking questions."
   Riker takes a sip of coffee and then says, "He may have been trying to make friends?"  He looks at the cup and then adds, "Or he could still be working for the judge advocates office."
    "If he is, who is he investigating?"  Worf says with a frown on his face as he looks at Riker and then at Deanna.
    Just then they hear the door chines and Deanna says, "Come in."  In walks Lt. Barclay who does not look to happy, if he ever does.
   "You wanted to see them this morning?"  Barclay says as he slowly walks up to them.
   "What do you know about Lt. Johnson attack?"  Worf asks as he turns and looks at Lt. Barclay.
   Lt. Barclay grabs the back of a chair and asks, "Did someone attack James!"  With wide eyes as he sits down and looks at Worf.
   "Then you do know Lt. Johnson then?"  Riker says as he leans a little bit forward as he keeps his eyes on Lt. Barclay.
   "Yes we serve together once." Lt. Barclay answers as he looks at Worf and then Deanna and adds, "I have no reason to what to hurt James, he is my friend."
"What about Lt. Thole?  Would she have a reason to kill Lt. Johnson?"  Worf asks as he leans closer to Lt. Barclay with a mean look in his eyes.
   Lt. Barclay just shake his head no and then says, "She of all people would not want to see him killed!"
   Deanna reaches across the table and puts her hand on top of his and asks, "Why is that?"
   Lt. Barclay pulls his hand back and looks around the room real quick and says, "I cannot tell you yet."
   Just then the door chimes sound again and Deanna leans back and says, "Come in."
   Lt. Data walks in carry a data padd, he walks up to them and says, "I have been looking into Lt. Johnson past too and have found that five years ago something happen, that may help us."
   Riker leans back and says, "What would that be?
   "I was hoping that Lt. Barclay here or Lt. Thole could answers that for me."  He looks down at Lt. Barclay.
   Lt. Barclay starts to look a little bit more nervous as he shakes his head no starts to get up, but Worf puts his hand on his shoulder and says, "Where do you think you are going?"
   "I cannot talk about what happen there, its classified."  Lt. Barclay answers as he looks down at the table with his hand in front of him.
   "Would you tell the captain?"  Deanna asks as she looks around the room.
   "I suppose I could tell him, he is the captain after all."  Lt. Barclay answers as he looks around nervously.
    "Then lets go and see the captain."  Riker says as he stands up and heads towards the door.

   Ten minutes later they are all sitting in the captain's ready room, Picard is looking at a data padd, he puts it down and says, "Why did Starfleet and the Federation council put UFC 465537 system under the classifies as P-119, with mean off limit."
   Lt. Barclay looking down at his hands answers, "We were on a shuttle that was passing by that system when our shuttle hand to make a emergency landing."  He looks up at Picard and continues, "Once on the planet we found out that Starfleet had scientist study what they called the Guardian of forever."
    "What is that?"  Worf asks as he stares at Lt. Barclay.
    "It a window that can if you go throw it you can go to a different time or place, you could change the past if you want too."
   "Could Lt. Johnson be investigating weather you or Lt. Thole have said anything about this?"
   Lt. Barclay just shakes his head no as he answers, "No, they were secretly married three years ago."
   "MARRIED why would they want to keep something like that a secret!"  Riker asks as he stands up and stares down at Lt. Barclay.
   "You do not understand, her father does not like the idea of her only daughter seeing a Starfleet officer."  Lt. Barclay answers as he turns and looks at Deanna and adds, "He hated working as a investigator, he found it hard to make friend."
   Deanna leans forwards and says, "Lt. Thole is old enough to decide who she wants to marry."
   "That is what I have been telling her, but she is very scared that her father would have someone try and kill him!"  LT. Barclay answers as he looks down at his hands again.
   "Could he have found out about her being married to his daughter?"  Deanna asks as she lean a little bit closer.
   "Not that I know, only three other people know about them being married."  Lt. Barclay answers as he lets his breath out slowly.
   "Could anyone of them told her father?"  Worf asks as he moves closer to Lt. Barclay.
   Lt. Barclay shakes his head no as he answers, "The Bridesmaid and minister and me are the only one who know about the wedding and the bridesmaid was killed at Wolf 359."
   "What about the minister could he had told her father?"  Riker answers as he to moves a little bit closer to Lt. Barclay.
   Lt. Barclay starts to laugh as he says, "He would be the last person to want someone to hurt his only SON!  When I told he that they were going to be on the same ship all he said was that he hope to have grandkids soon."
   "Number one I think you should have a talk with Lt. Thole and see if she could have any idea as to who could have tried to kill her husband"

   Riker and Worf are walking towards Lt. Thole's cabin as Riker says, "I hope she can answers some of our questions."  As Riker starts to raises for the door chines the door open as Lt. Thole is walking out of her cabin, she stops in her track with her hand on her stomach.
  "I was just heading to my post in sickbay, is something wrong?"  Lt. Thole asks as she looks at them with a worried look on her face.
  "We need to talk to you in private."  Riker answers as he holds his hand out for her to go back into her cabin.
   She turns and walks back into her cabin, she keeps her back too them as she says, "Is there something I should know?"
   "We know that you are married too, Lt. Johnson."  Worf states as he moves closer to her.
   She turns around real fast and says, "Who told you!"  With fire in her eyes as she moves right up to Worf.
    Riker moves up to her and grabs her by the arm and pulls her away from Worf and answers, "Lt. Barclay told us, we need too know if anyone ease may know?"
   Lt. Thole stares at Riker with the same fire as when she look at Worf and answers, "Know one that I know of!"  She pulls her arm free and slowly walks over to a window and looks out it as she adds, "I'm glad it out now."
   "Then he was with you last night?"  Riker asks as he moves up behind her.
   "Yes, we had a big argument, he left so fast that he did not check to see if anyone was in the corridor."  She answers as she wipes a tear off her face, she turns around and adds, "I think someone has been watching me?"
   "Do you have any idea who it could be?"  Worf asks as he moves up next to Riker.
   Lt. Thole nods her yes as she answers, "I think its Lt. Wallman, his father is my father's business partner, he has been asking me out the last few days."
   Worf looks at Riker and says, "His cabin is just two doors down the corridor."
    Riker hits his communicator as he says, "Computer, where is Lt. Wallman?"
    "Lt. Wallman is now in ten forward."  The computer answers.
   Riker and Worf both turn and move out of Lt. Thole's cabin almost at a run, Worf hit his communicator as he says, "Security team one meet me in ten forward!"  Lt. Thole watches them leave and then wipe another tear off her face as she heads out too.

   Riker and Worf enter ten forward where they see Worf team standing by the door, Riker walks by them and walks up to the bar where Guinan is wiping the bar.  He leans on the bar and quietly asks, "Where is Lt. Wallman?"
  Guinan gives him a little smile as she answers him; "He said he was not feeling to will and was going to sickbay."
   Riker turns around real fast and runs right by Worf as he says, "He going to try again!"

  Riker runs into sickbay and sees Lt. Wallman standing next to Lt. Johnson with a hypospray in his hand.   "Put it down!"  He shouts as he sees out the corner Lt. Thole come flying out of Crusher office and lands on top of Lt. Wallman.
   "Stay ways from my husband!"  Lt. Thole shouts as she starts to hit Lt. Wallman all over his head.
   It takes both Riker and Worf to pull her off of him as Riker says, "That is enough Lt." When he looks down at Lt. Wallman he sees one blood mess.

   Two hours later Picard is standing next to Lt. Thole as she is holding the hand of her husband who is sitting up on the biobed with a big smile on his face.  "Its good to have it all out in the open know."  Lt. Johnson says as he looks up at his wife.
   Just then Crusher walks in and sets down her med. Kit and walks over to them and says too, Lt. Johnson "I hope you never get your wife mad at you."  She looks at Picard and says, "Lt. Wallman will be able to stand trial, but not for a few more days."  She turns and looks at Lt. Thole with a big smile and asks, "Did you tell him yet?"
   Lt. Thole looks down at her husband as she turns a little bit red and says, "You are going to be a father."
   Lt. Johnson smiles up at his wife and asks, "What are you going to tell your father, my love?"
   "I will tell him to stay out of my life and if he wants to ever see his grandkid, he will have to be nice to you."
   They all share a laugh as Picard says, Tell me Lt. Why were you asking so many question when you came on board?"
   "I just wanted to make friends, all those years in the judge advocates office I did not make may friends.  I work and eat alone, now I just want friends."  Lt. Johnson answers as he gives his wife's hand a kiss.
   "I do not think you will have any problems making friends on the Enterprise once everyone hear that your wife is going to have a baby."  Crusher says as she smiles at them and adds, "If you behave yourself you can go to your cabin tomorrow."
   "I will have them bring a bigger bed to my cabin for us."  Lt. Thole says as she smiles at her husband. 
   "What's wrong with the one you have now?"  Lt. Johnson asks as he starts to laugh.
