After the making the updates on the Red Dwarf, they crew of the Vortex, find out that the ship has a Shadow Tech Virus onboard with them and Rimmer gets inflected by it.

While looking at the maps and finding out a shotcut. They make the choice to head through it, but they fine out that it wasn't the best of the choices that they had made.

The crews of both ships find the other ark that has rest of Cat race on it.
