Site Updates Archive (April 2005)
The Battle Chart is done -- Sunday, April 10, 2005
While I was finishing the Battle Chart, I made a very important discovery. There seems to be differences between some of the battle charts in the official Nintendo Power strategy guides. In Yellow, Ghost attacks are supposed to be regular towards Psychic Pokémon. In Stadium, Ghost attacks are not effective towards Psychic Pokémon at all. In FireRed/LeafGreen, Ghost attacks are supposed to be double effective towards Psychic Pokémon. Since all of those battle charts conflict with each other, I will have to investigate them when I have the time.
I'll replay and complete the first generation of Pokémon games by the end of this year. I never really got to catch all 150 Pokémon in that game since someone erased it when I already had 142 Pokémon. I'm better at Pokémon now than I was back then, so I think I'll be able to finish the games pretty quick next time.
I'm also doing other stuff to my website. I would rather work on that stuff then to just be talking about it. So it will have to be a secret until its ready.
Finally a ton of updates -- Sunday, April 03, 2005
In continuing my website traditions. I've changed the snowflakes of my introduction page into flowers because it is no longer winter. I say it every year and I'll say it again: I seriously need to find new pictures for these seasonal changes.
For a few days, I was closely looking around the website's code and fixing even more small mistakes that can't be seen by the common web browser. I decided to remove those "Go Back To..." bars at the bottom of every page so that I wouldn't have such a hard time removing them in the future. I knew they would have to be brought down someday. However, those little bars that say "Next Page" & "Previous Page" are so very useful that I will be keeping them.
I tried so hard yesterday to create a battle chart from scratch based on the official battle chart from Nintendo Power/Pokémon-Games.com. It looks very nice, but I am not finished yet. I need to make the "=" signs to show when a certain attack type is non-effective against a certain Pokémon type, then I need to make the keys on how to read the chart. You can now find links to this Battle Chart on several pages under "Pokémon Games" on the left frame.
I tried fixing up the first three months of the Site Updates Archive because I felt like I needed to do an even better job to pay my respects to the previous webmaster. I still need to fix up the last 3 years of updates before I'm done with it. That will take me about a week...
When I went to go take the "Emerald Frontier Battle Brain" test after updating my website, the test was already shut down. Remember when I said I should take the test on March 30th just to be safe? I ended up being left out of the contest because I didn't listen to my own advice! They put the test back up for people who just want to quiz themselves. I got 20 out of 30 questions correct in almost 10 minutes and they gave me a score of 2059. It took me 10 minutes because I got really stuck on Breloom and Snorunt, and I couldn't just put a random name knowing I would get the answer wrong. That kind of score would have gotten me around 90th place in the Knowledge Frontier (California). I have to wonder what kind of score I would have gotten if I studied Hoenn Pokémon earlier that month.
