Father and Clan Head for the Di Nerezza family. Canio was "embraced" in Italy in the year 1015 by an ancient named Aurelia, whose own bloodline ran back to the year 335. He sired his wife, Elena around the year 1223, and began creating his own family shortly afterwards. (Savio, Daya, Sienna, and Thera)

Europe at the time of Canio's crossing was a dark and dangerous place, with the battle between Good and Evil being fought on every corner. Canio's dealings with such have made him a very dark character, who's one source of happiness is his family. Other Clans and Watchers alike fear him. Canio's mortal enemies are too numerous to list, but has always included members of the Deveraux family, as well as the Raven. Juanita Von Blut has often battled with Canio, and as such, he frown on any association between members of his family and the Von Bluts.

Canio is a strikingly handsome man, with aristocratic features. He forver appears to be 30 years old. He dresses mostly in black tailored suits, and is often referred to as vampire equivalent of a Godfather. His love for his family is evident is everything he does, with Thera being his baby and a special favorite.

Canio has recently returned from a prolonged trip to Italy. He senses that new forces of Evil have come to LA, and wishes to protect his family from any harm.
