Star Trek: - Meetings. Part 1 of ? A presentation of Classic Trek, Next Generation and Deep Space 9 - bought together for the first time. Historians Note: This story takes place after Star Trek - First Contact, and the Deep Space 9 Episode Shadows and Symbols (Series 7). Story Begins: [Scene opens with a fly past of the Uss Enterprise E. Cut to the bridge. Main crew are here (except Worf - he's on DS9.)] Picard: Well, that was quite an adventure, eh Number one? Riker: Yes sir, it was Data: We sure showed those Borg not to mess with the lads from the E on their home turf! Picard: [slightly concerned] Mr. Data, have you been playing with your settings again? Data: [quietly] sorry sir. Troi: Captain, I feel that what this crew needs after our last few days, is a nice long break, maybe on Risa. Picard: But we've only just came back from leave. I mean, this was our first assignment. Troi: I know, but the crew's not getting any younger, and it may make an interesting story. Picard: Point taken. Mr. Crusher! Set course for Risa! Warp factor 9. [A long pause] Data: Eeeerrrrrrr, captain. Wesley no longer forms part of our crew. he left several years ago. Picard: [acting casual] I knew that. I just wanted to test the [starts to stumble for words, covering up his mistake] reactions of the crew, see if you were all alert, test whether you would....oh just set course Mr. Data, you know the way! [The ship shoots off at Warp] Riker: [Turning to Picard] Sir, it's time for the intro. Picard: I know, I know...er...what were the words again. It's been so long since I did it... [Fade off. Fade up on DS9. Cut to Ops.] Worf: ...and she shoudn't be here. O'Brien: I know she's not your wife any more Worf, but can't you... Worf: [shouting] No! Jadzia is in Sto'da'Kor! O'brien: [sighing] I know Worf, you tell us every five minutes. Kira: [To Odo] He's not going to do that Klingon Death Dance again, is he? Odo: My knowledge of Klingon death rituals is rather limited majo...Colonel, but I believe he is. Kira: Great! [Worf get's up and walks to the middle of ops, where he starts singing, and dancing around. It mainly involves much jumping and shouting, and waving arms and legs in the air. The door to Sisko's office opens, and he walks out] Sisko: What's all the bloody noise? [see's Worf] Oh, the death dance. [Sisko turns around and goes back into his office. Worf continues. The lift comes up and Dax walks out. Worf immediatly stops, and looks foolish. He slinks back to his seat in silence.] O'Brien: Hi Dax. Worf: (grunt) Dax: [Really happy] Hello everybody. Everybody: [except Worf] Hello. Worf: (grunt) Dax: Did I miss something? O'Brien: No, only Worf doing a [suddenly realises he's about to put his foot in it again] ...er....er....a.... Klingon Happy dance, because he loves being here in the middle of a war. Dax: [Even Happier!] Oh, can you show it to me Mr. Worf??? Worf: (grunt) Dax: [leaping in the air in happiness, and clapping her hands together to show her utter joy] Please Mr. Worf!!! Worf: (grunt) maybe later. [The door to Sisko's room opens again, and he walks out] Sisko: Listen up, I've just been in contact with Star Fleet. They say that because nothing is going to happen for a few weeks, were to go on holiday. Dax: [Really happy now!] Oh goody! Sisko: So, pack your bags and belongings. We're going to Risa! [Sisko turns around to go back into his room] Kira: Captain! Sisko: Yes major....Colonel! Kira: It's time for the intro! Sisko: Yes, I know, but I don't need to do anything! Kira: Oh, sorry. I forgot! [Scene cuts to DS9 opening. We hear Picards voice over.] Picard: ..can I do it now? What, right now! I'm not ready, oh, here we are. [clears his throat!] Space the final fronteir. These are the voyages of the ...sorry, is that the right tone of voice? It is. Oh, good. I'm not used to doing this again after all this time. Right, where was I? Oh yes, here we are....final blah blah. It's ongoing mission to ...no, that's not right is it. I've missed something out. Er, Ah! These are the [The credits finish. Fade out to Bridge of the Enterprise. Picard come running out of the ready room holding a script] Picard: [reading]...to boldly go where no one has been before...Oh damm! That's wrong.... Riker: Captain, we're on. [points toward the camera] Picard: [Looks at camera.] Oh yes, sorry. Right. [clears throat again] What's our status Number one? Data: We're in orbit of the planet Risa sir. Picard: [Leaning close to Riker] Very good Will. Those ventriliquism lessons are paying off. [Taps comm badge] Picard to Mr. O'Brien. Prepare the transporters. Riker: [worried] Captain, Miles has not been on the ship for a while now sir. Picard: I know, I know! I'm not completly senile you know. Riker: Yes sir. Picard: Will, I want to you organise sending down the crew to have a good time. Riker: [getting up] yes sir. Picard: That's an order. They must have a good time. Riker: I'll ensure that they do. [exit Riker - Right Turbolift] Data: [excited] When are we going? Picard: Soon, Mr. Data soon. Data: [claps hands to show how excited he is!] Oh! Goody. Picard: [slaps head] oh good grief! [Fade out. Fade up to Defiant, flying through warp. Cut to bridge] Sisko: Steady helm. Nog: [bored] I know, sir. Sisko: Hows our course? Kira: [also bored] Fine. Sisko: Weapon status? O'Brien and Worf: [also bored] Fine. Sisko: Crew morale? Dax: [really happy] Fine! Worf: (grunt) Sisko: Mr. Nog, what's our ETA? Nog: Eh? Sisko: [patronising] when will we reach Risa? Nog: Oh, about 3 hours Crew: (groan) Sisko: Just enough time for another systems check. How's our course? [fade out. Fade up to Risa. Picard is lounging around on a sun bed, wearing his shreddies and Riker is blowing up an inflatable water toy. Geordi walks out, looking upset.] Picard: Something wrong Geordi? Geordi: I can't find my Horha'hn! Picard: [confused] The what? Geordi: The statue that says I'm desperate for a ... Picard: Oh yes, I remember. You remember that Number one? [Riker can't answer, but puts his thumb up] Geordi: Will, are you supposed to turn that colour? [Data emerges from the changing rooms, dressed in his swimming trunks.] Picard: Are you sure that's such a good idea Data? Geordi: No, it's alright captain. Me and Bev have lubricated all his joints to prevent rusting. Picard: Oh good. [Data climbs up to the top of the high dive, and jumps off. Picard and Geordi watch as Data plunges down into the water. As they wait, he doesn't emerge.] Geordi: [thinking] perhaps we should have something to bring his weight down... Picard: Don't worry, I can handle this! Will! Get in there and save him. [Riker just looks at him with the inflatable hanging half out of his mouth.] Picard: Ok, Ok. I'll do it. [sarcasticly] let's just ignore all that "I'll do anything to stop the captain getting into danger" routine shall we? Geordi: Captain... [Picard get's up and jumps into the water. Moments later he surfaces with a limp Data in his arms. Riker pushes the stopper into his infaltable and runs forward. Geordi also come to the side of the pool.] Picard: He's stopped breathing. He needs CPR, quickly. Riker: [shouting] BEV! Geordi: or you could use your comm badge. [Picard, geordi and Riker pull Data out of the pool and lie him down. Geordi pushes his chest, and water spurts out of his mouth. Bev comes running down, medkit in her arms. Riker bends over, and gives Data the kiss of life. Data coughs, splutters, and his eyes fly open. Riker backs off, and Data springs upright. His eye's dart back and forth.] Data: [in a different voice] Please wait... Picard: Data? Data: Processing. Please wait...Initilazing..please wait...attempting re-boot proceedure.. Reboot completed. Accessing BIOS. Please wa..Bios accepted. [Data's arms and legs all move, one at a time.] Data: Thank you for saving the life of this robot. For your robot to be returned to full working order, please contact Soong ltd. Please have your registration card handy when you call. Until that time, your robot may only accept limited commands. Soong ltd. thank your for your time and for purchasing one of their models. If you feel this unit is past it's best, and wish to replace it, a trade in maybe available. Contact your nearest showroom for details. Thnak you. Picard: Oh er. [Fade out. Cut to Defiant bridge] Bashir: [via comm system] ..and seeing how no one has used any medical equipment in the 4 hours, there are still the same number of medical kits there were at the start of the trip. Sisko: Thank you doctor. Majo...Colonel. How's our course? Kira: SAME! Captain, can I go now? [The doors open and Worf and O'Brien walk in. Worf is wearing a twenties style bathing suit, with water wings, and O'Brien is wearing is swimming trunks and an old t-shirt. he has a bag packed with a wind breaker and sun shade in it. They both take there seats, replacing the useless engisns that were there before.] Sisko: Ok, Majo...Colonel, and Dax. Your turn to change. Dax: [happy] Oh joy of joy! Worf: (grunt) [Kira leaves quickly, hoping to get to the lift before Dax, whilst Dax jumps in the air, clapping. Dax skips over to Kira, who is very angry that she has to share the lift. They leave. Sisko looks around.] Sisko: Well, if no one needs me for a few minutes, I thought I'd... Everyone: No! we're fine! Sisko: Ok. I won't be long. [Exit sisko, rear lift. Nog walks in, wearing a Kiss-me-quick hat, and ray-bans.] Worf: [angry] Where did you get those from? Nog: Uncle Quark. He's going to sell them in his beach hut. Odo: Quark has a beach hut? Nog: Yes, he set it up before we left. He's going to sell Ice cream, kite's, tennis games and those yucky hot dogs that no ever buys. Odo: Hmmmmm. O'Brien: Well, I'm just looking forward to the break. Me and Keiko haven't been to Risa for....[stops and thinks]....Bloody Hell! We left Keiko back on the station! [Nog Laughs. Odo produces a breath-a-lizer.] Odo: Ensign, can you breath in here for me. [Nog does] Odo: I thought so. Quarks selling booze. [Odo leaves. Scene cuts to Quarks room. He has it set up as a bar area. Morn is sitting on the bed. Sisko is sitting near him, on a large box. Quark walks over with a drink.] Sisko: I never thought this would work. Quark: Well, Morn jumped at the chance of comeing to Risa. [leaning closer to Sisko] Tell you the truth, he hasn't shut up about it all day.
