This 1987 little known flick of Wes Craven is indeed a delight for horror fans. This indeed is rather an interesting twist for most Wes Craven fans. A Havard doctor travels to Haiti in search of a voodoo formula that would simulate death. Of course he gets intertwined with voodoo and ends up in a rather deadly situation.
I personally found that this was one of Wes Craven's better horror films. The doctor is played by Bill Pullman who indeed does a superb job. The film is ambitious at worst, and unique at best. The only thing is, the situations are a tad contrived (this is the movie to rent if you wanna see people doing stupid things), but likewise a decent movie to see. It relies a little too heavily on special effects (as most Wes Craven movies do), for my tastes for the effects tend to move the story along.
