A town has a usual number of pregnancies, with the result being a plethora of white haired, beady eyed children (that just happen to have psychic powers and are from another planet). The intent...for them to take over the world. And who is going to stop them? Kirstie Alley (gee, that would be MY first choice in picking someone to save the world. Any member of the Cheers cast would certainly be qualified, wouldn't you think?)
Those of you that know me know that demonic children is one of my requirements for a good horror flick. Possesed children, alien children, children with heads rotating 360 degrees, children that spit pea soup.....those are the things that make a movie worth watching. So this movie satisfied my requirements there. The fact that it is indeed a John Carpenter film satisfied my other requirements for a good horror flick. Unfortunately, these are the only two requirements that were fufilled. The movie didn't even emit an eerie feeling because the blond children were just too hysterical. The mind reading stuff was cool, but the alien existance was very contrived. Not a must see, but not a bad see if every other frucking John Carpenter movie is rented out.
