THE SHINING





Well, Mr. Kubrick, you sure fucked this one up. The only reason I got this one is because I bought the Stanley Kubrick box set under the impression that these films would be in widescreen. This one was NOT. I view widescreen very highly and rarely consider purchasing a DVD if a Widescreen option is not available. (I only make an exception for classic films like Wizard of Oz and Casablanca since their widescreen versions are often about $50). The documentary was pretty cool, but again...with a movie with such a cult following, there should have been more involved (maybe throwing in some interviews, cut scenes, etc.). I mean, in many people's eyes, this is a movie that ranks up there with blockbusters like The Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby. Its DVD should have been entitled to the star treatment.
