Everything you ever wanted to know about Freddy Krueger is explained in this movie. This takes place in the future, ten years to be exact...where all the children from Springwood are whiped out, except for one and the adults in the town are suffereing from serious psychosis. This remaning kid is admitted to a counseling center for teens because he has serious amnesia. All he can remember is that wherever he was from, he was the last. He was carying an article about a Krueger Woman that was murdered which has a watertower in the background. That's when the counseler remembers that that watertown and that woman is the same woman she sees in her dreams. A very interesting twist must I say. And if you saw this in the theater, you got to see the last 15 minutes in Freddyvision 3-D.
This will forever remain my favorite of the Freddy series. Freddy was hysterical in this movie, spoofing such great films as Wizard of Oz while reaking the usual mayhem. This movie has my second favorite death in it. When Spencer gets sucked into a video game (Nintendo to be exact) and Freddy controls him using the Nintendo Power Glove( while he says he hilarious quip "Now we'e playing with power!") I personally would have liked to seen Freddy use the Nintendo Power Pad...but, oh well. We can't have everything. This movie wasn't really meant to be scary. It was meant to poke fun at itself...and thats exactly what it did very successfully. The flashback to Freddy in grade school was fabulous, as well as his abusive father (played by Alice Cooper). Tom Arnold and Roseanne plays wonderful Springwood psychos. And look for Johnny Depp's wonderful cameo appearance!!!!!!!! Even if you don't like Freddy, you'll love this flick.
