KING KONG

More so Sci fi than horror, King Kong was truly the first of the giant monster movies. I personally like the uncut version better because of the giant spider scene (I'm a bonafide Aracha-lover). You can't help but to be bedazled by the effects (just remember that this movie was made in 1933) and the plot is rivetting. However, it is indeed Fay Wray's acting ability that made this movie the blockbuster it is. Innocent and beautiful, she is the woman that all other "damsals in distress" have always been compared to. A little known fact is this movie was suppose to be an adaption of Beauty and the Beast.
