TALES FROM THE CRYPT

Many new Cryptkeeper-ateers are completely unaware of the existance of this movie. This movie was released in 1972 and was put out by Bill Gaines for promotion of the movie. I believe the film was done entirely in black and white and it was much like the Tales From the Crypt tv show was intended to be: A full length feature movie containing various horror skits.

The Cryptkeeper is our guide through four of the stories directly from the comic book, and I must admit they are quite sinister. The first is "And All through the House" which was later adapted into a tv show. It chronicals a woman who kills her husband on Christmas Eve, unknowing there is a psycho in a Santa's costume on the loose. The psycho gets into her house via her young daughter and the woman is indeed in a quiver for she cannot call the police because they would find out That she killed her husband. The second story "Reflection of Death", a man is killed in a car accident while going to his mistresses house and becomes a walking zombie. Or is it just a nightmare? It is dangerous sleeping behind the wheel as this story comes to its ironic conclusion. The third, "Poetic Justice", a man comes back from the dead to torment his enemies and the forth one "Wish You were Here" is a sinister take off of the "three wishes from a genie" story.

I find that this video is very difficult to find (though it was released once). The sequeal, "A Vault of Horror" is even harder (and mouch more lackluster in my opinion. Once in a while I see bootleg copies of both on Ebay www.ebay.com. Its worth a checkout. 1
