This movie is about a 1958 Plymoth Fury that has quite the evil spirit living inside its doors. The spirit possesses Arnie, a teenage loser quite easily and soon becomes obsesed with the car. The car has abilities to go on a killing rampage (which it does....somewhat like a demonic Herbie the Love Bug) and gets jealous of Arnie's teenage sweetheart.
A movie directed by John Carpenter and written by Stephen King...how can you go wrong, right? Well, not really. While I do indeed love this movie because it is indeed truly unique in all of the horror movie world, I have seen many a horror films with more luster. Don't get me wrong...it is indeed a great horror film, and one of my personal favorites, but from a horor critics point of view, it's nothing special. Or maybe its just because with two horror giants like Carpenter and King together, we truly expect something more spectacular. Indeed proof that there can be too much of a good thing.
