The Birds stars Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren, mother to Melenie Griffith. As if that's something to be proud of). Melenie moves to the coastal Bodega Bay to shack up with Rod Taylor. The town is attacked by swarming birds and everyone is running for their lives (utter debauchery!).
Now for my review. What's better than swarms of stuffed birds, really? Now, the special effects look almost humorous, but its easy to see why it was considered so terrifying at the time. Hitchcock, being the master of suspense that he is keps you on he edge of your seat even MORE so when he birds aren't attacking by overexaggerating "the calm before the bird storm". While the writing leaves a little to be desired, the suspense is well worthy of a view.
