BBQ (June 10th 1999): not actually getting invitiations until the day before, falling asleep and missing the movie part, walking over being paranoid that a car was going to come up really fast behind me and hit me, being attacked when I got there, the hammock, the ant hill, the bench in the middle of nowhere , fighting over the cd player, the cd player skipping ‘cause of the extension cord, chicken nuggets???, french silk pie, trying to climb up on the ledge thingy and getting down like a minute later, ducking on the ledge so paretnts wouldn’t see us, spying on parents, twisting my ankle on my way out (thanks for the hug)
St. Lukes Jr. Volunteer Orientation (June 11th): being the third to last person there, being really sleepy, wondering what the hek being the third to last person there, being really sleepy, wondering what the heck my job was, listening to the same things over and over from the volunteer handbook, the confusing tour (What the heck we were in the clinic building and now we are in the hospital???????), spilling my soup, eating w/Molly and Jessica (How in the world do we get back?), wheelchair rides w/Sarah, TB tests (brave Mallory and Erica), Sarah being really freaked out and not helping, the test not hurting that much, the little “bug bite” (that went away in about 20 min.), getting the TB test checked taking literally 2 sec. (it took more time to make copies of the paperwork)
Valley Fair (June 14th): drinking hot chocolate and eating hardees food on the bus, The A&W song (on Wild Thing, on Corkscrew, everywhere), running off of Wild thing and getting back on like 2 min later, planning poses for the camera, pyscho pictures, look mom no hands, going on Wild Thing like 6 times!, “predicting” our getting stuck on Wild Thing, Britney Spears on Wild Thing and Corkscrew, the “Looping Starship”, “Vivo Puerto Rico”, Screaming at Chris below us, ditching Chris with a pile of bags, my plastic pocket, Opee’s zipper breaking, Chicken and cheese sandwiches/brats for lunch, the waterpark, dealth drop 6 times!, which ones fastest, fast, faster or fastest?, Enterprise screaming and all (Sorry Em!), ice-cream balls, Speed and Mulan, running over to Subway, the “Here fishy fishy” shirt
Abby’s Party (June 16): chicken fights, Andy’s signatures, Old Chicago, Buffalo wings, nachos, motzarella sticks, trivia game, the “hackers” on Andy’s game changing his name, lazar tag, watching X-Files w/Amanda in the other room, being the first one to fall asleep in my clothes, licking Ricky, Abby “Brr I’m cold”, the guy in the sauna, the kiddy pool, playing w/the magnetic poetry
Amy and Ada’s party (June 30th): arriving and Abby and Panda not noticing till like 5 min later despite the many loud “HI ANIKKA”s, candy, chips and salsa, yummy chinease food, opal and Anikks eating a million fortune cookies, taking walks, left overs for snacks, jelly things, X-files, blankie hidding, the tipping couch, watching the stars w/blankies and other people’s sandals, Opal and Em trying to teach Anikka how to gleek
Volunteering at SLH: delivering flowers with Sara (June 16), the little boy in ped screaming and watching cartoons for 3.5 hrs (June 23), admitting (5 women to birthing within 3 hrs) and running all over the hospital (June 30)
